Won't happen. Clottey gives you the body (awww yeah mutha****a that rhymed) and Cotto will see the openings. Clottey does go into that little shell and he does let his opponents get off with body shots. Gutierrez, Judah, and Margarito were all able to attack the body successfully.

Anyone who thinks this fight will be easy for Cotto,is crazy,or has never seen Clottey fight!!Clottey is the best ww fighter right now thats underratted,on any giving saturday,he puts hands on the welterweight superstars!!I give much respect for Cotto for taking this fight,but believe me Winky v.s. Mosley better be in the minds of those who are unaware of how good Clottey is,that said after Winky,Mosley still went on to greater accomplishments,so there is hope for A post Clottey,Cotto to still end up an ATG!!

Would anyone else like to see Cotto go southpaw a lot in this fight?

He's got a decent right cross from the orthodox stance, but Clottey's guard would block it, and he doesn't really throw a straight right.

His straight left from the southpaw stance would go right through Clottey's guard IMO. In the Mosley fight every time he turned southpaw he landed something huge, I don't know why he doesn't mix it up a little more. I think it'd be even more affective against Clottey than it was against Mosley cause Clottey can pick off his left hook and right cross with that guard.

No, he doesn't have stamina like Magarito, that's why this fight will be different from Cotto-Margarito. He doesn't need a chin like Margarito though because he doesn't block punches with his face.

Hopefully if all goes to plan for Cotto, the fight will resemble the first few rounds of the Margarito fight, If Clottey does fail to mix it up and hides behind his guard, Cotto should pick him off.

I just think that he should beat a Clottey easily IMO. A lot of people think it will be close but I just see Cotto's speed and boxing on another level than Clottey.

I also don't think that Clottey is as strong or can take the pucch Marg can in order to fight that same type of fight.

I don't think cotto will lose but here's something to think about...

the way to beat peekaboo fighters is to outwork them and keep them in their turtle shell. if cotto tries to outwork clottey he will gas out cause his stamina is not great and possibly get stopped.
