    james Kirkland=The new Marvin Hagler

I don't know but the Spartan like training camps and the relentless boxing style is eerie similar to Haglar. Don't quote me but I think this guy moves up to middleweight and rules that division. I'm watching his ring Life episode and the guy is a carbon copy of hagler!!!!

    Anyone agree??

    No.

    They're black and left-handed. That's about it.

Their styles are not similar. Hagler had infinite more skills than Kirkland. He was much more of a boxer, patient and looked to break guys down. Kirkland is very aggressive and fights like he wants to kill his opponent in the first round. Hagler fought like that on extremely rare occasion.

The intensity with which he trains can be compared to Hagler but the way he fights reminds me more of Frank 'The Animal' Fletcher except more aggressive.

Kirkland reminds me of Aaron Pryor with his intensity and willingness to throwdown but outside of that he doesn't have the skill set of a Pryor or Hagler. Kirkland will be fun while he lasts but his defensive holes and lack of head movement will ultimately be his demise.

The training is reminiscent of Hagler's "going to jail" ("once he started this schedule he wouldn't stop for the president") but his intensity of the ring is more like Tyson in my opinion. He isn't as skilled as either of them though, especially not Hagler.
