Everyone is racist towards other "race" in their own mind whether people want to admit it or not, Even though we belong to the "Human" race we tend to side with a "race" that we feel identifies us especially in boxing.

Thats why if you turn on your TV and see two boxers you dont normally know fighting you automatically root for the one that identifies you as a person.

Thats why its easy for some people to still back Margarito after what he try to do, Thats why its easy for some people to back Hopkins after what he said etc..

I agree that many people are like that, but I can tell you with 100% honesty that I will often openly root against fighters that are not only of the same race as me but also from the same country as me. Which is why I have had people on here label me as just about every race you can imagine at some point based on my posts. I actually think that some people feel a social pressure to cheer for one fighter over the other. Ive seen plenty of times on here where someone will call someone else (of the same race) a sellout for not blindly cheering for the fighter they are "supposed" to be cheering for. I think that backwards mindset is why racism is still as bad as it is. There can be a social "us versus them" mindset that is forced onto people from one generation to the next, which will never allow progression.

i'm kinda the same way....i tend to root for the unpopular guys no matter what there race...and often root against fighters from my country as well.....i also hate when fans will ditch a guy after a bad loss....i think that is the most disgraceful thing ever for a fan to do

I've been reading a lot of responses from what appears to sound like black posters ( i cant know 100%) who are more than happy to use words like "whiteboy" "white hype" etc...and condone the ridicule of white or european and even latin fighters to an extent, yet they become very irritable the minute anyone fires back about black hype fighters.
Look at how Popkins got a pass for his racism against Calzaghe. Imagine if Calzaghe said: "I would never let an ignorant, buck tooth nigg er like you beat me"...**** man, Calzaghe would probably be forced to live in exile after a remark like that yet Popkins gets a slap on the wrist.
So why double standard? Why are you comfortable mocking the Klitschkos or Calzaghe for being white champions and yet you coil in horror when some one has the audacity of throwing it right back in your face.
There is some racist white *******s out there no doubt, but some of you black posters are no better.
And please have your argument be better than the "reparations" bull****...I'd rather you just admit you're a racist and be open about it then cowardly hide behind that excuse.

Regardless of anyone's feelings on Bush's stance towards blacks in New Orleans... I can think of a trillion more appropriate forums to steal the floor for this kind of speech than a ****ing fundraiser for the victims.

That rant took people's focus off giving money to those who need it and put it on the negatives of the situation.

Unnecessary, and harmful to the efforts to help those people that were hurt by the man that he is criticizing.
