$$$$$OSCAR needs to fight chavez jr just to shut him up atleast,,Plus arum said possibility of Pacquiao vs chavez jr for the end of the year when we all know Chavez jr lost his lost fight...Oscar nedds to step up to the plate.......by David P. Greisman - In the months since his one-sided loss to Manny Pacquiao, Oscar De La Hoya has pondered whether to continue his career. Now De La Hoya has made his decision.
He’s just not telling us yet.
The official announcement won’t come until April 14, when, according to reports, the 36-year-old Golden Boy will hold a news conference in Los Angeles to say if he’s retiring or fighting on.
Now that De La Hoya has chosen what he will do, a heavy burden has been lifted from his shoulders and he has been able to put his thoughts elsewhere. Fortunately, we here at BoxingScene.com have obtained, through anonymous sources, De La Hoya’s personal diary. In an attempt to understand better where the Golden Boy’s mind has been, we present these excerpts, made public for satirical purposes only: [details]Comment

some became more known to the general public bcoz oscar fought them...Comment

Right decision to retire, if he feels he can live with the Manny defeat, his hunger went a long time ago.
Still will be remembered by me as an entertaining and great fighter though. Disappointed he does not want to go out on a win though.Comment

It's a sad day when I got to defend DLH because I hate him as much as anybody I can remember (and also longer then others). BUT...
the article is flat out disrespectful and not even funny... things like that I'd expect of normal fans but not from an official blogger who has knowledge of boxing. I mean where do you think we go from here if now folks like the athor from this article starts to disrespect boxers... boxers are already disrespected enough...
I hate DLH... BUT
he's the only 6 divisional champion ever... I can't even really think of an WW who could beat one of the Middleweight Champions and this is just a 2 division reach. DLH made many boxers famous and kept the sport more or less alive with fights who had a big feel to it... I never liked him but I respect him for what he has done inside the ring...
Let him have his farewell moment... it's hard enough to retire you see it on many examples!!! Holyfield etc.Comment

lol I swear to god, if I consume any more depressing cynicism in any shape or form outside of this article within the next 3 hours, my potentially productive, and handsome self might give up not only boxing, but life it self. David P. Greisman is death in text form. lol Put some sun glasses on when his text is on the horizon, some very dark sun glasses.by David P. Jesus ****in christ, lol that previous, and extremely horrendous **** aside...
Oscar goin down to 147 in the fashion that he did really ****ed him up in more ways then one in his last fight. I mean goin on "special diets designed for his blood type," didn't sound good the moment I heard it, that's the only reason why I'm even able to remember that s#$%. That was just weird to say the least. Coming in lighter then Paq himself was enough to put you on your ass in amazement when you first heard that, that whole circus event was ridiculous.
With all that bulls#$%, I wouldn't be surprised if Oscar wanted to end his career on a more reasonable, logical, and realistic note by fighting again at a more comfortable weight. But then again, he couldn't even finish Forbes off when he hurt him numerous times in the fight prior. Forbes was even able to touch Oscar up enough to force him to get some real surgery, I think. Somthin about his orbital bone.
lol Talk about hard choices to make. But I think the Forbes fight says it all. Oscar was unable to capitalize on the times he hurt Forbes. He couldn't dig down far enough to lay him out.
And as embarrassing as it is to lose to Paq, whos dubbed "The Mexicutioner," even though Oscar's mouth was probably salivating at the thought of fighting Paq, cause he knew damn well he could take that over hyped clown out in any division he fought in....he should just take that loss as a reason to humble himself. He should retire, and spend the rest of years handin down as much useful advice as he can. He should keep makin money and hopefully set a solid example for his peoples on how to make money, and more money, and even more. Use that star quality to set a new standard in the Mexican-American community.Last edited by MaYaN_SuN; 04-06-2009, 09:35 AM.Comment

damn this is f-ked up! I can't believe a so called boxing writer would diss Oscar in such a low way. Im very dissapointed, de la hoya is the only 6 division champ in history always fought the best all the way up to his last fight. he brought light to the sport when it desperately needed it, I can't believe this, and this guy is supposed to have boxing knowledge?Comment
