Edwin Valero vs Juan Diaz needs to happen

I liked what i saw from Valero last night. He is very exciting and is becoming one of my favorite fighters. However i still think he is an unproven fighter and needs to get 2 wins before fighting Marquez or Pacquiao or Hatton.

Valero needs a marquee name on his resume and dosent have any. Fighting Juan Diaz would also be a barometer to see how good Valero really is. The last guy he fought he actually had boxing skill, Vicente Mosquera, Valero was dropped by him. Juan Diaz needs to bounce back big after being stopped by Marquez and this is a great opportunity to put himself back in the picture at lightweight.

I agree, this would be a huge fight in Texas that would sell out crowds. Valero would either KO Diaz or Diaz will box him for a decision and fight him like he did Katsidis

I think Diaz should take a break, then come back against a lesser opponent.

I'm not saying he's finished, but IMO he should take some time off before jumping back into the mix.

        You're right.

Losing to Valero could put him out of contention for a while. I want this fight to happen, but Diaz would probably need a confidence building fight before challenging for a title again.

That's not to say Valero would beat him, as he himself has not met the likes of Diaz, who in my opinion would decision him.

I'd like to see that too. I'd be pulling for Diaz all the way, but it'd be a war.

Diaz would probably get Knocked out if they ever fight.

The name of another leading lightweight, Juan Diaz, was also mentioned as a possibility. "We'd have no problem doing that fight in [Diaz' hometown of] Houston," said Arum.
"We have no interest in doing that," said Golden Boy CEO Richard Schaeffer, Diaz's promoter, who insisted he had other plans for the Baby Bull.
I guess Golden Boy dosent want that tough a fight right away.

Why do you guys want to see Juan Diaz beat up again?

He's a nice kid. Let him finish college and become a productive member of society.
