Calling him slow and what not. He seemed very accurate. Before his finishing flurry, all of his punches seemed like meaningful ones. I like what I see and won't be surprised if he beat Marquez.
He would struggle to even find Marquez, and would get countered to a bloody pulp if he did. Slow and wide is a blueprint for a career altering schooling.

I think the only thing Valero really needs to do to become a definite threat to everyone at 135 and 140 is to tighten up his defense. If he can improve his defensive game to match his offensive game then he will be too much of a problem for anyone in those divisions.

Punchers chance?? Maybe...but all those guys have proven they can take big shots and come back and win.
Valero is what he is. A strong, limited, slow, predictable slugger.
He looks limited but is not slow.

And everyone said Foreman was limited and predictable, and that he hadn't fought anyone, before he fought Frazier.

But I agree he should be put in with an elite lightweight like Funeka next. Then we'll see.

of them. His power is VERY IMPRESSIVE and he KO'd a guy that hasn't
been KO'd since 95? Now you want to discredit his win because the guy
is 39? Bernhard is 42? Mosley is 37? Stop making excuses because the
only reason why you think Valero stands no chance is because he hasn't
fought a mainstream name and that's Bull****.

What makes JMM/Pac/HAtton so unbeatable to a guy with 25 wins all by KO? Bottom line, Valero is a threat. This is his first fight on US soil & Pitalua was supposed to be a test for him especially since he came off a big win. I don't get how people on this site are always quick to discredit a fighters victory but before it, says he has no chance to win it? Valero came to US and made quick work of a competitor that has no history of being stopped in more than 10 years and you want to take that accomplishment away from him? I guarantee Valero wins every fight from here on.
dude, i agree with you that pac/jmm/hatton can get hit flush but they were hit by elite guys as well. of course im not counting valero out, he has serious power in his punches but lets see him try other competition first. pituala may have come off an impressive win before valero but that doesn't change the fact that he is already 39 years old.

Arum should step up valero's competition level. Plenty out there to test valero's every aspect of the game. Khan's/Guzman's speed will test his defense; prescott's power tests his chin; katsidis/JDiaz will test his endurance. Then he can think about JMM/MP. I personally doubt he will pass all tests....
