I'll cosign this. Wanna jump to the front of the que? Be prepared to sign your life away. With all this performing and the mandatory option available, something tells me Haye knows he can't mix it with the top tens and NEEDS a shortcut for that 100 - 1 chance of dropping a bomb on Wlads highly mobile chin.Comment

Haye is a big mouth fraud that hasn't done jack **** at heavyweight, he dosen't even deserve a title shot, he's only getting a title shot because he's a hypejob with a big mouth.
Haye should STFU, get on his knees, Bow Down to Wlad and thank him for giving him a title shot.

Alright, well, I'm just testing.
Ok, but where is the precedent for 2 brothers ruling the marquee class together as a franchise? It's a combination of that and the rejuvenation of a slumping division an upset by Haye could cause that has provoked Team Klitschko to insert the extra clause. The circumstances are as unprecedented as the double rematch clause itself. K2 are looking after their own interests, just like Haye, who doesn't want to go through other contenders and risk getting knocked out before he gets his shot.
This is my point entirely. Haye initiated this whole thing with hardball tactics and K2 are negotiating in kind.
But then you have guys like Pullcounter saying the Klitschkos aren't taking a risk. Wlad should definitely be installed as betting favorite, because he has the tools to dominate Haye, but there's a degree of risk because Haye still represents a step into the unknown as far as his abilities at heavy are concerned. What's known for sure is, dude hits like a truck.
On balance, with all factors considered, this is not that unfair a deal. It's a hard bargained one, but it's not the ***** move people are making out. If it's a ***** move, then Haye's a *****, too, because he's scared to risk getting KTFO before he gets a shot at a Klit.Comment

He won't be able to fight any mandatories, even if he wins all three fights, until he's made both defences, which means he would almost certainly be stripped of the IBF and WBO belts - if he won them - before the contract had expired. That's why the contract is bad for boxing IMO - even if he beat both Klitschkos the Heavyweight division would still be as fractured as ever in terms of the belts. If the contract had allowed him to make mandatory defences in between the Klitschko fights it would be a different matter, but it doesn't. Okay, he'd have The Ring and lineal titles in that scenario, but it would be far better for boxing if there could be a unified champion.
(I'm not making a prediction about the results of the fights, BTW, I'm just talking about the principle of the contract, which stinks, IMO).Last edited by Dave Rado; 04-04-2009, 09:06 PM.Comment
