Valuev Growing Impatient Waiting For Chagaev Rematch

Press Release - WBA heavyweight champion Nikolay Valuev is reluctantly considering a voluntary defense of his title because of his inability to land a dream rematch with his only conqueror, Ruslan Chagaev.

The WBA permitted the seven-foot-tall Russian Giant to make an optional defense before facing Chagaev in the fall, but Valuev was so intent on revenge that he requested an immediate purse bid so that Chagaev rematch could be scheduled before German boxing fans go on summer holiday.

Surprisingly, the WBA received the request but since then has done nothing to facilitate a second bout between Valuev (50-1 with 34 KOs) and Chagaev (25-0-1), a champion who got demoted to WBA champion in recess due to his constant injuries.

Because Valuev and Chagaev are under contract to rival promoters and television networks, negotiations are highly unlikely to be concluded without the WBA's assistance.

Valuev’s manager, Wilfried Sauerland is losing patience with the lack of progress, and now intends to explore other options for the two-time heavyweight champion. [details]

If the sport of boxing was what it should be, this would be the time for Vitali to fight Valuev.

But Valuev has small stones despite his size, so he'll take another ****** voluntary defense against an old or mediocre fighter.

And because of WBC's foolishness, even though he would prefer a live opponent like Arreola, Vitali has to face old, shot Maskaev.

It would be nice to see Vitali get to fight Valuev next.

I don't think that will happen though.

Valuev is just terrible, hopefully Chagaev does an encore soon.

            Klitschko vs Valuev

Dreams do come true, now that Ruslan is out of the picture, then the arburtration thing with Vitali we might get what we want, a match-up of Giants. Thats a fight that would sell ppv tickets, and i would order, and i havent ordered a ppv in years. This is a fight i and alot of other people would pay to see. Lets cross our fingers.

After Valuev-Holyfield, I kinda doubt that.

I don't doubt it, Delahoya vs Sturm remember that one, after that crappy performance, look at the ppv numbers against Hopkins, then again when Delahoya sqeeked past ****ty Phillips, he still broke ppv numbers with Pacquiao. Vitali and Valuev would be the first ppv heavywieght in a long time that would sell good.

De la Hoya used to be boxing's poster boy, this is different. People complain that Vitali's style is boring, but Valuev is the king of boring. No that many fans will be willing to pay a PPV to see Vitali outbox the hairy giant. This would do better in open television, altough that is a long shot.

it's not Valuev who doesnt want to fight either K brothers, it's Don King. but I hope in near future Valuev faces Vitali, this should be really interesting. Since Vitali biggest of all Valuev's opponents - easier to hit bigger target. + idk if Vitali can knock out Nikolay.. distance..- it could be, Valuev is younger and might outbeat Vitali by UD. anyways, i hope this fight happens
