The ignorance spit out on both sides is simply ridiculous... some of you should stop watching the sport. It's hard to pick the worse side...

"De Jesus far worse than Castillo"

    "Duran by mid round KO"

go watch some more fights of a fighter before running your mouths with bull**** regarding said fighter.

Duran won by fighting his fight. A brawling contest. You know SRL isn't a brawler. Look at the second fight, who won? who's was fighting whose fight?

Now look at Mayweather. When has he ever fought his opponent's fight? He only did it once, then changed the game plan mid-fight when Zab lost concentration.

Zab's abilities are not similar to Duran's. Duran would end up in a SRL-Duran II fight.

Duran won by imposing his will on Leonard. And anyway you chose to look at either fight, Mayweather isn't Sugar Ray Leonard, and 147 wasn't Durans best weight.

115-113 twice and 116-113. These are the scores of the second Castillo fight, the one where Mayweather fought his best fight at 135, against his toughest opponent. Duran was faster, a better body puncher, a better combonation puncher, he hit harder and was much better defensively than Castillo. Niether Castillo or Zab is close to the fighter a prime lightweight Duran was. abd Duran fought better fighters in his career than Mayweather, Floyd never fought anybody near as good as Duran.

          Duran by UD. 116-112

If you had any idea of what you were talking about, you might know that Estaban De Jesus was at least as good as Castillo. Try checking his record before you post this bull****.
you said esteban was at least as good, but definitely not better then jose luis castillo. duran got put on the floor by de jesus in the first fight and got beat handily.

if de jesus could beat duran then floyd, castyillo, and corrales could.

all this crap about duran being 10x better then castillo is crap he never fought anyone at 135 who was as good as castillo or corrales when he fought

Even though Mayweather would have a substantial reach and height advantage over Duran, I'm sure Roberto would overcome.

He defeated LOTS of bigger men than himself.
and he got starched by many bigger men as well

if esteban de jesus could defeat roberto at 135 then I know for a fact he wouldn't stand a chance against floyd who really is 10x the fighter esteban de jesus was

I never said Zab is Duran. I was comparing their styles. Zab is a speedster, hence Floyd tried to fight a "who can hit who first" fight. Failed at it and then fought his fight because Zab is dumb. Duran is a brawler. Regardless of combos, he will brawl and look for the KO. History says that is a no-no thing to do against Floyd.

Duran probably wont look ****** but regardless I think he would lose. He couldn't beat SRL when SRL was fighting the way he normally fights. So, I dont think Duran can beat a man who fights similar to SRL and 98% of the time never fights his opponent's tempo/gameplan/fight.

Let me school some idiots here. Duran did not like movement. Mayweather had plenty of it. My personal all time top 5 at LW is (in order of appearance)

                  Gans
                  Leonard
                  Duran
                  Whitaker
                  Mayweather

IMO Mayweather and Leonard give Duran more trouble than Pea, Gans or any other lightweight you can think. Based on smarts and movements. You need a great bike and a great brain to beat Duran.

If someone wants to make an argument for Williams, Ortiz, Ross to be on the top 5 go on. But if you ever fancy putting money on a lightweight to beat Duran (I would not) it better be the ****** Wizard or the Pretty Boy.

(I don't favor Ike against Duran, because he is not as calculative as PBF and Leonard. And Pea did not use his bike as much as he should have to beat Duran)

Marcel, Buchanan, DeJesus and Viruet are all as good or better than the fighters you've named.
