You never know Chavez was with Margarito after the Cotto fight maybe he gave him that tip. Chavez didn't want his son to fight with Camacho Jr. even though Camcho son stepped up to the ring and challenge Chavez Jr. I guess he might hate PuertoRicans.
Has the margaretio hand wrap scandal made you question mexican fighters?

Dont group all boxers of the same race to be doing what one bad apple did.
But on another note I think it should be mandatory for both fighters to take off their gloves and wraps on the ring just to make sure this **** stops. If they make it mandatory to take them off in the ring after the fight and turned them in for inspetion it should reduce this problem.
Wraps should be inspected before the fight, and after the fight.Comment

When did I say that, in this thread? I only used him as an example to point out why I would question some of the more brutal, bloody wins that occasionally take place.
It's not ignorance if I don't go blindly believing, without proof, that someone was using loaded wraps. So far only Margs and his attempted actions before the fight with Shugs have made me question a victory in boxing - the Cotto beatdown, along with Clottey to a smaller extent. Otherwise, the thought wouldn't have crossed my mind (seeing as the Resto incident happened so long ago).
Suspecting someone's wraps is not something I'm going to actively starting doing each time I see a brutal KO. I might occasionally go "Hmm...", but that's about it. Unless stuff gets out in public that taints an entire resume, i.e. Margs, a win is a win.Comment

Well, it sounds like you're just being honest. I guess you don't trust any ******s ever for the rest of your life, huh? That's too bad.I wish i wasnt thinking like that, but some one just made a great point about the taylor/chavez fight chavez done all his damage late on, as did tony, also tony's former trainer has worked with many mexican fighters, so how do we know this has not been goin on for years in mexico sad but it could be true
One thing you're overlooking is that it's a very common strategy for the slower, heavy-hitting guy to kill the body while the faster, busier guy wins most of the rounds in the first half of the fight. It's the second half of the fight when the guy who has been delivering body shots gets his opportunities because the other guy usually is dropping his arms/hands now because he's tired and he's protecting his body.
But, really, I just wish you would think about what you're saying. Mexico has a long boxing history and you're basically saying it's in that culture to cheat just because of two guys you seen box. (And in that long history, don't you think there would be a lot more stuff that would have surfaced all these decades?) You're basically saying that all Mexican boxers and trainers have this unwritten rule that they put plaster in their wraps. If that were the case, there would be a whole lot more boxers dying in the ring. There would be no more Vazquez - Marquez trilogy, there would only be Vazquez - Marquez 1/2. Corrales vs. Castillo wouldn't have made it out of Round 3 or 4.
Look, I'm not crying about it, but I know there's a lot of hate towards Mexicans. There has been for a long time. If you're gonna question hundreds, thousands of boxers based on a theory that you have, nobody can stop you. But just some free (although you didn't ask for it) advice: You should probably learn how to judge people on a one-on-one basis. Snakes come in all sizes, shapes and colors. Mike Tyson didn't think Don King would screw him because he felt they were "brothers." We know how that turned out.Comment
