Well when you consider a ricky hatton fight the UK ppv should certainly be taken into consideration. The UK market is not comparable to the rest of Europe, or Asia

But I think the guys that are betting should clarify this point. Either way I think it will break 750k in the US.

And I say it will not.

      We'll see.

You didn't use common sense, you jumped to a conclusion, theres a difference.

Because Boxing is a WORLDWIDE sport, you have to count WORLDWIDE figures.

Guys, please remember: manny Pacquiao was doing 300-400K when he fights a Mexican superstar. MUCH less when he fights a normal opponent. Ricky Hatton has ZERO US domestic PPV buys without Mayweather.

Neither of these guys are PPV darlings. Hatton packs a stadium with British flyovers, but American fans/public don't care about him. Pacquiao sold 165K (?) vs Marquez.

Think back: Mayweather-Hatton felt like a MUCH bigger fight than this one. On the boards, on the net, on ESPN. Five city tour. Floyd talking about it on Dancing With The Stars. Etc. And that fight did 850K.

VERY few fights do close to a milli. And none of them are non-heavy/non-Oscar.
Hatton was just as responsible for the Mayweather PPV being a success. Throw in Timothy Bradley instead of Hatton and you get 300K. it takes two stars to make big numbers.

A conclusion that my common sense tells me, which is safe to say is right. I know boxing is a worldwide sport, but boxing in most parts of the globe, is unquantifiable. There's black boxes in Mexico, illegal cable connections in the Philippines, Justin.tv etc etc. That's why they bet on US PPV buys, which usually provides numbers which they based their bets on...

Pac retires DLH in an impressive, entertaining beatdown. 1.25M Paid $50+ bucks for it. DLH's almost retired. I'm sure the PPV buyers that usually order his fights will not retire with him. Look around at boxing Universe....Who's there is worth your last $50? Only Pac fight will Bag my last 50 bucks. Floyd's still retired, DLH's gone, Pavlik's not there yet, Cotto's coming from his loss. There's nobody there to carry the PPV torch other than Pac right now.

I will say that all the 1.25M buyers for the Pac-DLH PPV will be a repeat customer for this fight. Then there's more who will be caught in the Hype. I would say it could top 1.3-1.4M PPV in the US Plus guaranteed 1.5 PPV in the UK. Could be less because of the still Bad economy.

there isnt a hope in hell of it beating the Hatton / Mayweather numbers in the UK.

                    Firstly - credit crunch.

secondly - Hatton is no longer undefeated.

Thirdly - Manny is a nice guy, against Maywesther most people in the UK wanted to see Hatton kick the fcuk out of him.

Fourthy - Whilst this match up is a boxing fans dream, it's not a fight that the wifes and girlfriends would stay up for etc. The Mayweather fight was a national event, the Manny fight will be big, just not BIG

Having said all that, it will do well. I'd pip to say about half the Hatton / Mayweather numberws (in the UK), perhaps more.

I couldnt comment on the states, im from London.
