Hopkins was the last undisputed champ at MW in my opinion. I don't think there have been many undisputed champions in boxing in the last ten years.

Horus: No offense mate. You actually don't know anything about boxing. You know about Mayweather. That's it. I can guarantee you've never stepped in the ring and apart from him, you haven't got a clue about the actual history of the sport. Go home.
Look man, You just said in this thread that the ring belt is not the undisputed belt in boxing.
And you are telling me i dont know anything about boxing?
That was basic knowledge and you didnt even know it.

My dude you just got owned in this thread, plus if you dont know about the ring belt ,than how in the hell can anybody expect you to know anything about boxing history.

Just own up too the fact you didnt know what you were talking about and moved on. I am not going to try and clown you for making a mistake. We all make mistakes. Just dont try to play it off when it is visable to everybody you dont know your history. Period.

Some people dont even know that Genaro Hernandez had never been defeated at 130 before Mayweather beat him. and that Hernandez is probably one of the 10 best jr lightweight of all time.

People really need 2 learn their history before they tryed to judge somebody elses history

            Not undisputed!

For every belt you have you have to pay a belt holders fee.
this is why baldomir when he beat zab didnt keep all the belts...it was because he didnt want to pay the fee for the WBC,WBO,WBA,IBF, etc.

And Most fighters dont like paying 10% of their purse just to hold 4 titles in one division when everybody already knows that they are the man.

Thats why when fighters get the ring belt, that means they are the man
reguardless of the of having 2 belts or 7 belts. It is too many ABC belts now and days to try and get everyone. so instead you fight the top guys in your division reguardless and become undisputed champion.

If they got rid of the sanction fees for holding belts, everybody would try to hold on to the belts forever. but every org. want to charge too much money to be considered their champion.

That's why when you become become undisputed you are consider the man
calzaghe my ass!his accomplishments are just as real as rocky balboa's!

Since when has the term 'undisputed champion' been the same thing as the Ring champion? Do you see what I'm trying to say here? The Ring Magazine champion is not the same as the undisputed champion. It's a bandied about term that has been in use sporadically over the history of boxing. The last time it was even used was when Calzaghe won the Ring title at LHW. Did he become the undisputed LHW champion of the world?

Various organisations use the term. Most recently, as Deliveryman just pointed out, the WBO has become the most recent major title organisation. The ring does not. It is not the undisputed title. If you want to call the Ring champion the undisputed champion you can if you want. That does not make it accurate though. The Ring championship will probably take over the term undisputed eventually as there are becoming too many titles and one day no one will be able to win all of them, but it has not yet, and maybe won't ever.

Jesus christ, this is getting absolutely ****ing absurd. What the hell is wrong with you people?

Undisputed means you hold all the recognized major titles: WBA, WBO, WBC, IBF. That way... there is no dispute. The WBO has recently gained recognition as a major title, before it was just the other 3. It's obvious if you have all the major titles, you're going to be crowned The Ring Champion as well.

Sorry guys, Benny is absolutely right.

The Ring might be the most respected, but that does not equate to "undisputed".

Maybe this will make it easier for you people to understand. What does undisputed mean? The actual word undisputed? What does it mean? Horus? Burner? Other geniuses?

lol at horus owning himself yet again.

Prepare yourself for a nice 10 paragraphs of extra bullet points, fonts, colors and centering.

lol at Ring title meaning undisputed.

Anyone worth their salt knows that Ring comprises its own rankings that have nothing to do with organizational belts.

Ahh, I see that someone with some understanding has come hither to clarify. See that second line (as in second sentence) above Horus? Do you understand what that means?

Oh man, this get's a bit wiggy in here with these psycho's.
