I'm no fan of Sergio Mora by any means but he isn't that bad, he has decent skills. That's actually a pretty good fight though, Mora vs Chavez. Would definitely be the biggest test of Chavez' career.

Peter Manfredo KO's Chavez round 1.
If he has never had a challange then how can you determin how good or bad he is? That makes no sense!

And then Sergio Mora a guy who soundly beat Peter Manfredo is a lesser challange to Chavez than Manfredo?

Maybe my biggest thing is that Junior is performing just as good against this level of opposition as guys like Angulo, and Kirkland. Nevermind that Kirkland and Angulo are both much older and have long amature careers.

It's not like these two guys are beating anyone else of note either.

Should have looked up JC jr's age myself, to see he was 23.

and thanks I like to think of myself as a funny dude.
Chavez Sr was already a World Champion and ripping through top ten fighters in his early 20's. With Junior's rate of progress I don't see him winning a Championship anytime soon (if at all).

By judging him on how he does against bums!! If he struggles against no names and bums, he's not going to do better against A & B level fighters.

I was joking about manfredo (he is a joke).

Kirkland dominating Julio is a much, much better accomplishment than anything chavez has done. Julio KO's Chavez in fact.

But again, my whole thing with chavez is his PPV bull****. If he's going to charge his fans PPV money, then he NEEDS to fight quality opposition. Nevermind what kirkland/angulo are doing, they have been working their ways up to the top the right way.

I wouldn't be so hard on the kid if he was earning his way like everyone else, which is fighting your way to the top and doing shows like espn, hbo, showtime, etc.

And who has he struggled against?? He had a draw early in his acareer and came back and easily won the second fight. He struggled against Vanda in the first fight and then boxed him silly in a one sided rematch. So who is he struggling against? Kirkland had a solid win against a very average Julio who he himself has made a good career of fighting the same caliber of fighters that Junior has been beating. Come on the guys biggest wins are against Isha Smith and K-9. Not exactly world beaters either.

And why do you people think that somehow junior decides what fights are put on PPV and which ones are not? He's not a ***ing promoter he's a ***ing Boxer. Bob Arum is the one who decides whats being put on PPV and whats not. Is it really that hard to comprahend?

Ok, if he is still up and coming then fair play to him and take all the practice and easy fights he wants.

But dont put him on ****ing TV all the time when he isnt that good and he is fighting some bum just because his name is chavez. If he sucks and his opponent sucks, wait until he steps it up to televise it.

hes ok, I dont expect too much from him but I DID see some improvements in his last fight, so hes progressing a little.

Hes fun to watch and has a big following. Id rather him headline a card fighting unknowns with pretty records than have Roy Jones headline a card fighting a washed up fighter who didnt even bother to train.

besides, most fighters really put it together around 25, unless youre exceptional. look at almost any fighters career and youll see they had hiccups along the way.

just dont expect to much out of Chavez Jr, and you wont be dissapointed with him. hes just a fun to watch fighter who has a strong fanbase, and should end up beating some top ten guys later on.

and whats more, its not like hes the only attraction in his ppvs. the Latin Fury ones are actually pretty stacked cards with good names in them.

What do you mean by later on? I don't see him beating any top ten guys anytime soon, unless he improves something drastic. And as far as the Latin Fury card, Jr should not be headlining when you have exceptional fighters like Montiel and Soto in Championship fights on the same card. Just my take.
