The thing is, I just think the kid has a ton of pressure on him and is very inexperienced but shows very good poise in the ring.
The pressure of having a whole country on your back wanting you to win big is something most people will never understand. Being a son of a legend, the expectations on him are crazy, I agree with you. (That was nuts in his last fight were he had four different people yelling advice at him in the corner, including his dad.)

The problem is since people have been paying to see him fight for a while now, they expect him to move up in class. I would like to see him do good, so I wish him the best.

Simply. How old was JCC Jr when his dad fought Pernell. Did they mention his age during the fight

That would be pretty easy to work out for most people.

Glad someone else feels the way I do about Jr.

If he was 30+years old, I'd be nudging him to step up his comp.
But the kid, whatever his age is, being in his early 20's still has time to RUIN his career and make a comeback.

I see he has the patience to control his emotions - avoids retaliation, doesn't overdue it for the kill when his opponent is in trouble, he's a thinker inside the ring, has the ability to adapt, and most of all he has a TOP QUALITY corner nurturing his career.

I have high hopes for his future, and don't care what ANYONE says about the bad opponents he's fought. Cause he'll step up one day.

He almost already did wanting to fight DeLahoya!

I say DON'T rush it. Stay on track and nurture a champ rather than feed more green to the wolves.

First off, he's young, very young. Some even say younger than the 21 years old he claims to be. Some close to him have admitted he can't be that old and is more like 19 yrs old but needed to start making money so the birth certificate was falsified.

Second, he never had an amateur career. He has about 40 fights so far and is undefeated. Granted it's with lesser opposition but this is sort of his "amateur career" he's going through right now.

There's a few things I see in him that are very good. He has very good fundamentals, you can tell he was taught very well by his father and fights a lot like him. He seems to have a good chin like his father and throws a great left hook to the body. He's tall and long for his weight, something his father never had.

There's a few bad things. He looks inexperienced at times and his defense needs major work. Even though he's tall and long he doesn't use them to his advantage and likes to brawl with his opponents and takes that advantage away from himself at times.

I would never say he is going to be as great as his father but I think people are jumping the gun when it comes to him being a "bum". I think with more fights under his belt and his body growing, he could be a GOOD fighter, maybe even contend for a belt.

                What do you guys think?
I agree with this post. Young fighters' carreers are being destroyed by desperate fans and the media putting too much pressure on them. This is not baseball where a 20 year old can throw 100 mph and win 20 games in his first year, boxing is a sport where you can get knocked out in your first fight regardless who the opponent is.

sure, I understand with the lack of experience he fights bums. Ok, that's all fine and dandy, he's young he has that right, but STOP HAVING YOUR FIGHTS ON PPV IT'S A RIPOFF YOU PIECE OF **** TRYING TO MAKE MONEY OFF OF YOUR FATHERS LEGACY, MAKE YOUR OWN LEGACY THEN CHARGE FOR PPV.

That's my problem with him. He needs to be on ESPN, Versus, HBO, and Showtime to get EXPOSURE and create fans, rather then the **** he's trying to pull right now. I'm not wasting my hard earned money to see him fight some bum off the street, f uck that.

Look if people want to pay to see this fight then let emm....

I'm not about pay to see him unless he's on an undercard of another fight or something...

I agree he does need to be on ESPN or HBO....

But this has nothing to do with him having talent or not.....

But it's completely relevant because that's one of the main reasons people hate on him. The fact that he is viewed as completely unworthy of being on PPV fighting bums and making money off of his fathers name. Take those two things away and he'd be a viewed as a good up & comer
