They may get credit for the combination of their intelligence, being a model citizen, GQ looks (or at least Wlad), and being Champion or they might just be compared to the Baer brothers.
I'm not sure where America is right now to be honest. Usually we like our Dempsey, Tyson, Louis, or Ali figures (although Ali had mix reviews in his day so maybe not him).
Vitali might get more respect than Wlad because he has the hard-core edge about him. A bit of a maverick character trait who has honor as well. What would hurt him is the TKO quit loss. America doesn't like quitters although I'm not quite sure that is true now though; we have been pussified.
If either Klistchko was a QB in the NFL though, he would be big time.
I remember hearing that the US boosted Dempsey instead of Tunney after Jack lost. Would it be the same today? We certainly picked Tyson up fast because of where he came from and how he fought but that was the 80's.
I personally liked both Dempsey and Tunney and I'm not sure how Tunney wasn't more revered for being a Marine and well read but those were the times I guess. Tunney's son said his Father's love of reading (which he was considered a "closet reader"), was frown upon because reading was looked at as being a dreamer. I always found that funny because America was about "dreaming" but I guess in the days where you are working long hours and many didn't get to go to school, reading wasn't a priority.
Today, maybe it would be Tunney who has the respect of the people.Comment

If they were White Americans, they would be praised as ATG. Like one said, the would of been in TV commercials, they would have endorsment from everybody.
Sad but true.
Look at how they hype Arreola, because he is the only half decent American HW. Imagine if they had the top 2 guys!!!!!!!!!!Comment

They are much, MUCH better than Byrd and Ruiz, who won a few boring close decisions as titleholders.
The Klitschkos win DECISIVELY with brutal KOs Wlad has been regarded as the best heavyweight for three or four years now.
Yes, if they were American and black, they would be unconditionally loved by the likes of Teddy Atlas and Eric Raskin, and American fans would come to like them better since they would be hearing and reading nothing but good about them.ahaha
oh and your post was ******ed as usualComment
