There is a chance that Froch tried to demand more money, he does kinda think highly of himself sometimes... not saying he has or hasn't, just a possibility.

This is one factor im sure they will sort out in the coming weeks, theres business to be had and Carl doesn't get the green light straight away because he isn't Hatton who has a rep already built.

        From Carl Froch:

Hello Cobra fans bad news. My fight against Jermain Taylor will not be shown live in the uk. Many things have been said that are not true i will clear them up now. I am the WBC champion its not no micky mouse WBO title its the lineal title. By being the WBC champion i believe it is my right to be compensated as such. I have brought big time boxing back to itv by fighting world-class operators prime-time. We offered itv a deal where they would show the Taylor fight but they turned it down wanted options and refused to meet my fee. When Mick told me Setanta were interested i reluctantly agreed so you my fans could see me beat Taylor live. I didnt want to deal with Setanta due to the poor fights they put on regarding Joe Calzaghe, real fans know beating Hopkins and Jones was a joke. again Setanta refused to compensate me in a way that pleased me and Mick. All i wanted was parity with what Calzaghe earned against Roy Jones (a washed up Jones) i am fighting a prime top 10 bonafide champion. I have tried to secure the fight but have been unable. Sky showed an intrest but unless it was on Boxoffice i didnt want to know. Sky said it cannot do nothing until after the Hatton fight.

But all is not lost as we have done an exclusive deal with BBCSport to have the fight broadcast on Radio 5-live.

        Regards, the cobra.

I don't think facing and beating Bernard was a joke... considering the majority want them to have a rematch.

i think setanta will hold there nerve a make an offer a week or a few days before the fight, thus getting the fight at a price they feel is good for them and not as good for carl. Also if froch is so confident of beating taylor why doesnt he lower his asking price so channels are interested and it gives him a wider audience to show his skills.
I hope the tv channels do put this fight on as it would be a great fight and one im very very interested in watching.

if carl thinks that hes already in the same pay bracket as calzaghe then he needs a good slap to bring him back to reality. carl is a good fighter but hes by no means the number 1 at SMW, just because he has the WBC title doesn't mean that hes the recognized champ. berto holds the WBC belt but is not even in the top 3 weleters for most people!!!

the way that he has been parading that belt around make me think that maybe he is getting too big for his boots. he should realize that the no 1 in the division is kessler, (come on kess make a damn fight and put these guys in their place!!!).

i realze that carl wants a big payday and you could argue that he might even deserve it but he needs to recognize that the likes of calzaghe, hatton, lewis and haye made their names by continously defeating top ranked contenders.

carl imo should take the money that ITV offer.

Jesus, Froch is delusional. What makes him think he is on Calzaghe's level yet? He has fought one fight at World-level, against another fighter who hadn't before fought at World-level and he suddenly thinks he is a superstar. I enjoy watching Froch fight and I think he is better than some people give him credit for, but the guy doesn't understand his position. I wish he'd just shut the **** up about Calzaghe as well. The fight never made sense for Calzaghe. Not enough money on the table, not enough recognition from the States and not enough additional credit for his legacy.

Anyone who refers to himself by his nickname is a prick as well to be honest.

Setanta will pick it up at the last minute.

They're just waiting to see who bucks first.

ITV won't show it. It's on too late.

What about the Beeb? they could tip their toes in boxing again.

He i not saying he is.

He is justs saying what ever boxing fans is saying, That the Calzaghe bouts against old Jones and old Hopkins were a disgrance a joke. Yet if they are prepared to show that, why not show Froch-Taylor?

                    He has a point imo

Froch will realise some money is better than no money.

Like phuck it won't be shown on any UK TV network.
