Nah, he was willing to fight im again before all this **** happened. He was also willing to face him when less than three people were. He's never backed down from the best, he backed down from someone who MAY have put his life in danger in a sport, more than it all ready is.
He has a right not to fight him. -

We don't know if he knew or not, but it was confirmed to be plaster of paris in his gloves. Why shouldn't he be banned?

Thats the only conclusion you could reach. Hiding behind principles and lofty platitudes is just a political way of saying "no thanks".
If I really believed a guy cheated when he kicked my ass, I would want a rematch IMMEDIATELY. That is how a guy with no fear behaves. Cotto is behaving the opposite by using this suspension as a convenient "out" of a rematch.
He had to take the initial rematch because of the public demand for the fight and for redemption for the first fight. And now all the sudden he is too principled to fight Tony again? ****, if I was Cotto I'd fight him for free to prove he cheated. But deep down inside he knows he lost fair and square and wants nothing to do with that monster Margarito.

Bro he was only willing to fight Margo again not to look like a punk to the public....The second he had an excuse not have a rematch this dude took it...and know he wants to stay super safe by having them end Margo's career...his life...WTF!..was'nt Margo still standing after some Murderous shots from powerpuncher Cotto?!Margo got his number and he is the only one who can stop his dominance in the ww division....again he was waiting for an excuse to avoid this man....everyone deserves a second chance.Comment
