Most countries would respect the ban - like they respected the ban on Resto. It remains to be seen whether Mexico will, but if they don't, then the US boxing commissions could (and IMO should) ban anyone who fights Margarito in Mexico from ever fighting in the US again.
Miguel Cotto Says "Margarito Should Be Banned For Life"
Collapse

I was responding to a poster who said Margarito could've killed Mosley had he used the wraps, therefore he should be banned for life. But since the wraps were taken out before the fight, it is speculation to say Mosley would've been killed.
It is also speculation (though sound logic) to say Margarito used the pads against Cotto, since it can't be proven for sure more than 6 months after the fight happened.
As I said, track athletes who fail a drugs test before a race still get banned.Comment

You said "he can't be banned for life on speculation". But he can be banned for life for having plaster in his knuckle pads, regardless of the fact that he was caught in the act before the fight. And he should be, IMO.

As far as your comparison to track athletes being banned, it doesn't hold for boxing, considering Vargas continued to box after he failed the drug test for the DLH fight.Comment

Wouldnt you want to whoop on the guy who did that to you? thinking about pay days is politics, these dudes are fighters not politicians. Their first act of revenge should be kicking each others ass. Thats why I get the feeling coto might be afraid of losing in a rematch, while this way everybody convienetly assumes that He would have won had marg not cheated.
Opting for a rematch is a complete reversal of what he wants to happen to boxing cheaters like Margarito, with or without huge paydays. That's not politics, that sticking by to his principles...Comment

This is something you taught me and its great!
Its totally different on your lower ignorant level but I guess you understand what you do so Ill roll with it.Comment

You're completely missing the point. My point wasn't about drugs, I was using an analogy to illustrate a principle, which was that you can be banned in sports for breaking a rule even if you get caught before the event.Comment

I'm sorry I don't speak tard could you maybe get a traslator so I can understand you?Comment

Cotto has every right to be su****ious and mad, but realisticly, unless Marg confesses, there really isnt any way to prove that he loaded his gloves in the Cotto fight.
Some have said a lie detector test, but I wouldnt trust it. There's a reason why they are inadmissible in court.
I say the two should just have a rematch, best way to settle it. And make sure that Marg's gloves aint "Loaded" this time around.
IMO I think there is. I remember in the ssm vs. Marg Fight, that JIM LAMPLEY said there was a "Blood spot" on the wraps. As far as im concerned, that "blood spot" on the wraps could be of the Cotto vs Marg fight. I think cotto should object and see if the blood is his, in the other hand i agree they should have another battle but it seems it would never happen honestly.
