That's a nice try. But comparing the confiscated pad to a photo from the Cotto fight still doesn't prove for a fact that its the same pad.

Let's say we do get a criminal case and this is presented. What will Evangelista Cotto (or the person from team Cotto supervising Marg's hand wrapping prior to the Cotto fight) respond when asked: "Was there any evidence of illegal wrapping before the Cotto fight? Were you not present when the NSAC official signed off on the wraps, indicating they were legal?"

And do you think the NSAC is not going to continue to stand by their statement that there was no wrongdoing by team Margarito in the Cotto fight, if one of their officials is questioned in an investigation?

I'm not defending Margarito here. I'm saying Cotto has a better shot at punishing Marg for doing him dirty in the ring than he does by trying to take him to court.

The pads were taken out of his gloves before the fight, so there was no chance Mosley was gonna be killed by plaster that night. He can't be banned for life on speculation.

It's not speculation that he had plaster in his knuckle wraps - that's fact. Just because Naz spotted it doesn't make it less serious in terms of the rules of boxing.

I'm not trying to say that that is a blood stain and I don't really know if he cheated before but I think that he has. If the test did not show any components of plaster then I would not be so hard on him as his denial of knowing anything would be true and honest. But since he lied....I dunno if I could believe that this was the first time. Both he and the trainer denied it

I agree but we will never know for sure so i think the best way to put everyones theory to the test is with a rematch. Margaritos hands are really gonna get checked this time around and if he can't hurt Cotto like he did in the first fight and loses then we can all feel a little bit better that a cheater got put in his place.

I was responding to a poster who said Margarito could've killed Mosley had he used the wraps, therefore he should be banned for life. But since the wraps were taken out before the fight, it is speculation to say Mosley would've been killed.

It is also speculation (though sound logic) to say Margarito used the pads against Cotto, since it can't be proven for sure more than 6 months after the fight happened.
