Miguel Cotto Says "Margarito Should Be Banned For Life"

Again how exactly is Cotto giving Margarito a payday when it's the contraversy itself that would sell the fight. If anything Cotto would be giving himself a huge payday and also a chance at redemption.

For some of us Honor and redemption is a little bit more important than money. Margarito will never be able to redeem himself but Cotto can if he can beat Margarito.

Missing the point - Margarito shouldn't be allowed to fight period - he could have killed someone....

Wrong, everyone calling for a lifetime ban (including Cotto) is missing the point. The plaster was removed before the Mosley fight, so team Margarito can only be punished for having a foreign substance in his wraps. They can only mete out punishment according to the evidence, and what has actually happened. The pads were taken out of his gloves before the fight, so there was no chance Mosley was gonna be killed by plaster that night. He can't be banned for life on speculation.

Even though it's logical to think Marg used plaster on Cotto, it can't be proven. The wraps were ok'd and signed for that fight, it happened, and it's done. But Cotto can prove Marg needed plaster to win by getting back in the ring with him and knocking him the F out.

Of course, I realize they can take it to court and try to prove a crime was committed. But the damage is done, and barring a confession it's nearly impossible to prove. Wouldn't everyone rather see Cotto punishing Marg for fighting him dirty, rather than reading second-hand accounts of an investigation or trial?

Why hsn't Tony said anything after the facts are out? Is it because he knows without his edge he will just be KTFO like Mosley did to him? You really think Tony wans to get his ass handed to him and not get paid? Tony's camp is awfully silent and it has already been almost 3 days since the DOJ released their findings.

Lot's of people want Cotto to redeem himself what are you talking about? They would love nothing more than to see him whip and embaress Margarito. I want Cotto to beat the **** of Margarito just to make the ******* pay for his ******ity.

Fought the wrong fight? Did you watch what happened? Cotto boxed Margarito's face off for 6 straight rounds before attempting to coast. As soon as he took his foot off of the gas, and Margarito landed, Cotto was completely changed. His nose shut, his eyes swelled up, and he ran out of air. All in a very short period of time.

Mosley landed bombs that didn't make Cotto blink, and we know Shane probably has more 1-punch power than Antonio. Just like the fight with Mosley, Cotto was preparing to set up a strong finish by taking it easy for a couple of rounds. Antonio's hands were su****iously heavy during that time, and it turned the tide far too quickly.

As much as I would love to watch Cotto beat him up in a rematch, he's been completely vindicated by this revelation.

You're right Tony will never do that because he's a ****less coward but Cotto could have been a better man but instead he acts like s crying ***** everytime they mention the word Margarito around him.


The funny thing is Mosely the guy who the plaster was meant for has barely said a word about this whole situation. Funny that a guy who admited to cheating himself has more class than Miguel Cotto.
