Not me anyway, I'm not too keen on Fattybombastics in the ring.
People will remember him. In Dagestan he is somewhat of a hero. People also know him in Ingushetia as well as Chechnya. He will also be remembered for beating Holyfield and clowning Shannon Briggs too.

Let's remember him for what he was; an undersized southpaw who campaigned at heavyweight, won a title and fought (and beat) in an era of giant heavyweights.

IMO, can clean up the CW division. But good for him anyway.

Other Boxers could take a hint from this guy. Quit while you are ahead

        Could not care less.

Ibragimov's performance against Klitschko was one of the most pathetic and boring things i have ever witnessed

According to Samson Lewkowicz of Warriors Boxing, former WBO Heavyweight champion Sultan Ibragimov has decided to call it quits on his boxing career. “He retired. He doesn’t want to go back and sweat in the gym. He got married, he’s very happy, he lives in Russia,” said Lewkowicz yesterday. “He’s a millionaire, he doesn’t need to fight any more.”

Ibragimov won the Olympic silver medal in the heavyweight weight class in 2000 and won the WBO title by unanimous decision from Shannon Briggs in June of 2007. The hard-hitting southpaw made one successful defense in Russia against Evander Holyfield, then lost a unification match vs. IBF champ Wladimir Klitschko in New York one year ago. That was his final bout. Ibragimov, who turns 34 next month, exits boxing with a final record of 22-1-1 with 17 KO’s.

Ibragimov may be remembered most for being one of the four Eastern Europeans to simultaneously hold all four of the world heavyweight titles - along with Nikolay Valuev, Wladimir Klitschko and Oleg Maskaev.

Ibragimov was a good fighter. I hope he enjoys his retirement. If he did fight again I think he would beat virtually everyone but the Klitschkos.

            Good luck to him.

Funny when others retire, its because they are scared or dont care about the sport.

He is the only one not to be recently stopped by klitschko. So, he wasn't knocked down or knocked out. And proved the critics wrong by not getting knocked out, and surviving a 12 round fight with a hard hitter like Wlad. He is quite smart because he got a huge paycheck and didn't get knocked out.

As I recall, Wladimir wasn't exactly Mike Tyson in there either.

I've never seen such a gun shy HW before.

I believe he retired rich. He had to of made around $2 million against Wlad, around a mil against Briggs and probably a couple mil against Holyfield. I bet after his fight with Wladdy, $100k for his next fight probably just didn't seem worth it to continue on. I'd love to see pre Mayweather-Sultan fight again but I'm content with his retirement. Watching the slick version of him was nothing but disapointing.
