SULTAN IBRAGIMOV:"The reason he retired because he's a rich man"

No he wasn't. 17 of his 22 wins were by KO. Many of the boxing forum nitwits and US media nitwits, thought his last fight against Dr K was boring because Dr K so thoroughly dominated him, and they were incapable of appreciating such a masterful performance.Comment

Ibragimov may have had his time as a slugger, and was actually one of the most exciting guys around. but when he stepped up to the big stage, he simply became boring. He looked just as bad against Holyfield and Briggs.Comment

There have been some assinine comments on this thread. How can anyone call a person who has devoted their life to boxing, trained hard, dieted, missed out on social activities and got their body beaten up against people who could kill you with a single punch a *****.
The logic on this forum is staggering to say the least.
More to the point, do we want to see people hanging around when their heart and will is not in the game any more? Why risk your health, cognitive functioning and your money not to mention time with your family to please a hard crowd? **** the haters, Sultan. You made the right decision and left with with your health and your wealth.
Have a good life, Insh'Allah as they say over there.Comment

Nobody will remember him. A semi-decent Heavyweight of the modern era. Means nothing. Imagine these guys having to fight prime fighters of the 90's.
I wish him the best, but nobody cares he's leaving.
Not me anyway, I'm not too keen on Fattybombastics in the ring.Comment
