None of these were unifications.
Dawson was WBC, Johnson was nothing.
Tarver was IBF, Dawson vacated his WBC before the fight.
Williams was WBO interim, Phillips vacated his IBF.
Johnson-Tarver I was a unification. That's the most recent I can remember off the top of my head.Comment

Vitali Tsypko is no joke, I actually think he is offensively better then Andrade and way more accurate puncher. But he doesn't have any real power to his punches and only can beat Andrade by decision and probably won't even be able to hurt Andrade at all... I'm picking the upset in that one or is it considered an upset? I got vitali winning.
I'll take bets with anyone on here about that fight. This fight is important for both fighters.Comment

This isn't that type of thread. I'm not saying anything in a negative way, I'm not saying they are ducking each other. I guess my point is that in a world with such global parity and in a sport once dominated by African Americans, it's rare now to find 2 Americans, much less Black, fighting in a unification bout and I honestly cannot remember the last time it happened. Plus, any fan that knows boxing can quickly recall 2 Mexican champs going at it. So that was pointless.Comment
