No they ain't the same. Did he face PWs?? Cintron(who was top 10 at the time)?? Clottey(who he hasn't fought yet)?? Cotto has fought good opponents, don't get me wrong, but I just don't think he's better YET. This is in no way in defense of Margs, this is coming from a non bias point of view.

Something Cotto has failed to do also is win a belt from a champion. All he has been doing is fighting for vacant belts, sucks but its true. Hopefully one day he can do that.

Well considering Cotto was getting nailed with plaster all night I would say the match would've gone differently, and I would guess Cotto would've won a decision. Margarito is a disgrace and anyone who brags about him beating Cotto is a disgrace to this forum and to boxing fans as a whole.

I'm leaning toward the possibility that he did this for the Cotto fight. It just seems (to me) that there are too many possible indicators.

• All of a sudden, midway through the fight, Cotto's face started to swell up badly.
• Tony's shots were slow and looping, yet they appeared to be crushing Cotto's facial structure.
• While he still seemed able to continue, Cotto bowed out of the fight, probably from the pain to his face.
• The heated Mexican vs Puerto Rican rivalry. Tony was no way in hell about to lose that fight. If he attempted to cheat for the Mosley fight, he probably had done it against Cotto.

Yup, not to mention that was definitely his last chance. It was far and away the biggest fight of his career and he was favored to lose. It's actually hard to not think he did it against Cotto.
