The big issue for me is the fact that he clearly thought he would have no problems getting away with it. There's no way you'd risk your reputation and career doing something so heinous if you thought there was a risk you might get caught.

Which begs the question: who was protecting fighters before Margo was busted?

It's the equivalent of an NFL player entering the field with a radio link to his coach. I doubt the NFL would take long to smell a rat.

Why does everyone assumed this happened after Williams? I think he's been using them for a long long time. He definatly had it against Clottey. He lost a close fight to Williams but he also lost to Santos. Why wouldnt he start using them then? He seemed more at a cross roads at that point and had to beat Clottey and Cintron. I dont trust him.

Again, I think about the last Cintron fight when he dropped him the final time and was waving his arms for Kermit to get up. Then he ran over to Arum and started begging for a Cotto fight like he knew he would kill him. What a punk. Your going to wave your arms for Cintron to get up like you really did something. I have lost all respect for him

Problem is the Nevada commission never made an investigation into this..so we will never know if Cotto was hit with some blocks..It's like accusing someone of having sex with a ********** but you have no evidence.

The only person who knows is Margarito and if he did use them against Cotto then only time will tell..

The reputation of Antonio Margarito, a former three time welterweight champion, has taken yet another hit. Margarito's career has been under fire since his hand wraps were confiscated about thirty minutes prior to the bout with Shane Mosley on January 24. Mosley's trainer Naazim Richardson felt Margarito's wraps in the dressing room, and then indicated to an inspector for the California State Athletic Commission that Margarito's wraps were hard. After Margarito was asked to remove his wraps to have them inspected, two hard inserts were found. He was asked to re-wrap his hands and would later get knocked out by Mosley. [details]

Cotto was doing damage!!!! Marge didn't come out the scrap untouched. If not for the blocks in Margs gloves Cotto would have ended it like Shane.

Shane worked Margarito's body and clinched when necessary. Cotto didn't do either and wore himself out trying to KO him, Shane never tried to KO him, the KO came to him.

I agree, but do you think he used them against Paul Williams, but Williams started well and then Margarito got back into the fight. Also in round 2, Margarito did some damage to Cotto. I had Cotto winning, but I wonder if more then just plaster took its toll

Ok. I dont know if people aren't paying attention or when they read their mind develops their own thoughts and they believe their own thoughts.

Cheating is a verb which is an action word. An action word is the act of or the process of doing somthing. Example: Running is the act or an instance of running. So pretty much a verb is the "act of" doing something. Cheating is a verb.Therefore he would have had to have plaster inside of his wraps, underneath the padding of his gloves, during his fight with mosley and then caught red handed. To be cheating.


ATTEMPTING to cheat is a totally different thing. ATTEMPTING to cheat is trying, before the act of doing so, you are caught. So he was preparing to commit the act of cheating.

So because he ATTEMPTED to cheat. He was only suspended. Therefore he cant be banned or anything else.

To all the Cotto fans. He was never found to have cheated during the Cotto fight. Maybe he felt more threatened by Mosley and decided to cheat. Maybe he didn't, we dont know. You cant automatically assume that he cheated Cotto, just like we cant automatically assume this wasn't the first time he tried it. Its like saying the New England Patriots have always cheated, all of their superbowl wins were won because they filmed the opposing team's walk through. Its dumb and ignorant to assume that. Therefore the Patriots were only fined and lost a 1st round draft pick. Similar situation for Margarito.


Margarito ATTEMPTED to cheat. Get over yourselves. he doesn't need to be banned, a suspension was fine enough. Only because he attempted to break the rules. If he was caught after the fight then its a different story.


Not even a Margarito fan. I went for Mosley in that fight. Im just trying to make people realise something that they weren't apparently seeing at first.

Why would he cheat for a guy Cotto beat, but not for Cotto? Not to mention there is some proof such as in the corner saying "Your punches should be solid punches by now"

Cotto never put Margs on his ass let alone hurt him. Neither did that ***** Kermit. Plaster or not, Margarito had them mentally owned anyway.

Anybody getting hit with bricks will get mentally owned!!!!!!!

Cotto was doing OK, even when getting hit in the first Couple of rounds, watch, after the plaster hardened, Cottos facial expresion was another one.

All that is so very true but the truth is Margarito also had a physical edge and a mental edge knowing that he had an advantage.

Not to mention I believe he did it before Cotto too, so he knew how much of an advantage he had and knew most would succumb.
