Well, I do understand that alot of people didn't find Floyd vs Oscar entertaining...still I can't agree, I've rewatched that fight several times so...whatever floats your boat

We may not like casual fans, but they do drive the sport seeing as they are the majority.

Guys like me and you know what to expect from him.

They don't, which is why they based their decision to tune into him on his prefight hype.
Floyd had the public in his hand against Corrales, Chavez, JLC, Hatton, Zab, Genero and he put up great performances in those bouts

Its whatever floats the casual fan's boat. Not mine, not yours. The fight was decent in my opinion, but I was frustrated at the fact casual fans were watching this and complaining the whole night.

And the thing is, the fight didnt even have to be a WAR. It really didn't. All it had to do was be entertaining. Some good action here and there. Not even that.

He pretty much put himself in that position though.

I understand he wanted to get paid for his talents, he deserves it even though not everyone can be paid like DLH.

But then again, there are lots of fighters who deserve those paydays. But they don't overhype their fights and fail to deliver either.

The general public didn't even know who Floyd was for anyone but Hatton out of those names.

            The boxing public, yes.

But not from the casuals who gave him the lifestyle he has now.

And I agree with you and I'm sure you've read where I've defended Floyd regarding this. I know he's not boring when facing opposition that is similar in stature, but when you oversell a fight and dont produce, people aren't going to be happy. its as simple as that.

People buy a Floyd fight to see him lose now. Not to see him fight. And that doesn't grow the sport.
I can agree a little as for you saying "People buy Floyd's fights to see him lose"

I don't think people will buy a fight just to see someone lose

Mayweather vs. Corralles/Castillo/Gatti/Chavez/Corley/Burton/Hernandez/Manfredy even Judah was entertaining.
Regardless of how great you are, you can always point out their dull fights, Be it RJJ, B-Hop, Shane whoever

This is one of the reasons I've said that I wouldn't want Floyd fighting Margarito or Williams. Ive said that if his hardcore fans think he's GOD, then why not fight them and prove it, but in my opinion, those fights would do more harm than good.

Floyd has a great chance of beating them, but why would we want to see Floyd have to backpeddle a whole fight potshotting? How is that a ppv EVENT?

Where as, a fight with someone closer to his frame like Cotto or Mosley, we'd get to see a more offensive Floyd. That is why one of my favorite fights to watch is Mayweather/Judah.

You have 2 fighters who are similar in regards to physical attributes. When this is the case, its SKILL that will be the deciding factor and not a physical advantage that was given to you from DNA.

Well Mayweather isn't nearly as entertaining as he once was and sadly, maybe not entertaining to casual fans but that is alot to do with him facing MUCH bigger opponents. I know alot of people want him in against Cotto or Shane but seriously, that might be boring to alot of people

Yea but on the whole, I think Floyd is actually kinda exciting. He just moved so far up in weight he had to get even more defensive. Of course everyone has boring fights, its just a shame that Floyd, an exciting fighter IMO, is universally recognized as a boring fighter because he became the household name he is now only after fighting at 147, which is too big for him to fight like he did at lower weights.

And a Cotto fight would not be boring. Cotto has never been in a boring fight....except for maybe John Brown.
