I doubt it. He still doesn't have the skills to be a "Hall of Fame" fighter.

Even if he dedicated himself tirelessly, it's not like he could have become a masterful technician. His skillset is too limited for that.

      Ricardo is Ricardo, bottom line.

He's a badass, ****y, entertaining brawler, who likes to give the audience what they pay for. Win, or lose.

      I'm happy with that.

If his goal was to become a HOF/ATG. Then he would have worked alot harder. Since his goals more than likely wasn't to become an HOF/ATG, he lived the lifestyle he did.

So he did take it seriously because you have to train seriously to win, and you have to win to make money. Since he didn't desire to become a HOF/ATG, he didn't care about the sacrifices of become an HOF/ATG.

edit- skills arent everything. if skills made the best who they are then Marciano, Gatti, just about every latino boxer wouldn't be talked about today. (most latinos = heart boxers)

There's the answer. He did enough to where he could consistently make money of fighting and that was his goal.

The best thing about Ricardo is that all his antics are in no way a promotional tactic. That's just him, he doesn't give a ****.

not all HOF'er or ATG fighters are technicians. He has a chin that could have took him further in greatness status. Look at jake Lamotta. He was a slugger type that gave the great Ray Robinson trouble

I see your point, but I just don't think it applies to Mayorga.

Probably not an all time great but he could have had a better record.
