That may not be a bad idea. I'd rather see Cotto go to GBP for now. Either way, I'd be happy if he left Arum.

Yeah good luck with that Cotto because we have seen how great boxers are at promoting themselves. See Jones, Calzaghe.

The only problem with Cotto going to GBP I see is Cotto is without a doubt along with Pacman the #1 fighter in in Top Rank. With him going to Golden Boy you got Mosley (who doesn't seem to be retiring anytime soon), Marquez, BHop (maybe retiring next yr?), Hatton, and Oscar himself who we have no clue yet as to what he's doing with his career. I don't see Cotto playing 2nd fiddle to any of those guys considering he already beat one of them.

If anything they could do a deal similar to Mayweather's where they'd promote a fight or 2 for him but also add his promotion to the mix, but obviously that's an obstacle in itself being GBP HAS TO BE the marquee logo for whatever fight they're promoting.

It "may" work if it's a short term thing, but I don't see Cotto being a full-fledged GBP fighter, hence why I said in a previously he's gotta have a breakout year.

He's probably going to be a beast and fight too many elite fighters. Hard to imagine Cotto selecting a Jennings for himself. Which is a neccessary thing to do once in a while.

if cotto follows through with this believe that arum will do everything in his power to make clottey the winner of their fight.
