    WBC Shamefully nuthugs Vitali

Don't get me wrong, Vitali is the best heavyweight out there, but to say he is the best pound for pound fighter today and the greatest puncher in heavyweight history is irresponsible and ignorant at best. The man deserves accolades, but this type of overstating actually does more to discredit Vitali than help him. It also doesn't help that its Sulaiman's idiots who wrote it.

The WBC has declared reigning heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko to be “the greatest puncher ever in the heavyweight division.”

Official WBC Statement: “[Vitali] Klitschko proved that he is the best fighter in the world nowadays, pound for pound, after defeating Juan Carlos Gomez who had a record of 35 knockouts in 44 wins and only 1 loss. Klitschko has outdone all other fighters, no matter what division they belong to. The heavyweight world champion is the only one who can claim he is the greatest champion in the world of boxing as nobody can defeat him. With Vitali´s extraordinary wins, in fights that have been stunning to world fans, showing absolute control and power, our king of the heavyweights has silenced many mouths and media that had unfairly attacked him without any evidence, and been disrespectful to him, considering the great class he is showing. Jose Sulaiman, president of our organization, stated today that Klitschko is the pride the WBC as well as he is the pride of world boxing. Vitlai Klitschko’s record is now: 37 wins; 36 of them by knockout, and including his last win by KO, his percentage in this specialty went up to 97.2%, fact after which Klitschko is placed as the greatest puncher ever in the heavyweight division.”

I dont like him but in fairness to the article it doesnt say he is p4p the best, it says no-one in boxing can beat him as he is heavyweight champ. And it's his KO ratio is the best in the divisions history (Is this actually true??)Not that he is the best puncher.
I've got a bigger problem with him saying he is the pride of world boxing.

They give him so many accolaides mostly down to his size, being a huge HW and puncher. Then kinda admit it saying:

"The heavyweight world champion is the only one who can claim he is the greatest champion in the world of boxing as nobody can defeat him."

Vitali's good but I agree, it's a somewhat particular and narrow minded way of looking at it all.

What he says is basically the truth. If I read between the lines I see this as a bait for Lennox Lewis. A return fight with Lewis would fill the empty vault at Sulaimans WBC dome.

Actually it did say that he was the p4p best fighter.

"Official WBC Statement: “[Vitali] Klitschko proved that he is the best fighter in the world nowadays, pound for pound, after defeating Juan Carlos Gomez who had a record of 35 knockouts in 44 wins and only 1 loss."

His KO% is more than impressive, but percentages doesn't equate to greatest puncher, it leads to "one of" the greatest punchers. But if we throw in the false statement that so many believe is true (that Lennox Lewis had a china chin) that means that Rahman and McCall were harder punchers. Or that Shaun George is a harder puncher than Vitali because he KO'd Byrd while Vitali couldn't even though he was whooping his ass until he unjured his shoulder. Listen, I feel Vitali is a really good heavyweight in an era of really mediocre heavyweights. Don't overstate what he has done and undermine it all in the same press release like the WBC has done. No one hears the other alphabet soups in the press like you do the WBC, maybe they should taper their rhetoric some.

They can try, but I cant see any reason for Lewis to fight him (from Lewis' point of view)
