It's not that he doesn't punch hard, he obviously does. It just seems the guys he fought weren't HURT by most of the punches thrown by Pacquiao.

Pacquiao hurts opponents with accumulation of punches. His power is pretty good really.

man i knew this too, rashad said pacquiao's power comes from his strong legs, its no surprise really

people always expect him to be light fisted since he started at the lowest weight division, this has change. this was apparent in the de la hoya fight, i've never seen oscars head snapped backwards like that before

but then i doubt rashad felt margarito's 'hand w****d' punches, hehe

Its the punches you don't see that get you... I think Manny somehow manages that with accumulation and speed. The punch that knocked out diaz was the same exact punch that put Marquez on his back... That is why I am amazed at Marquez' will and ability to recover.

Pac wasn't even loading up on those punches against DLH because the game plan called for speed... He started loading up in the last two rounds prior to DLh quitting and he woulda put him on his back sooner or later.. I didn't think his punches looked like they were hurting DLH early on. He was doubling on his left like a jab and not punching through like he used to. I've seen DLH get snapped back harder than Manny did but Manny was not punching for power. He was hurting DLH for sure though with those punches regardless.

Just look at how cut up Pacman is, he looks like Bruce Lee and Bruce Lee was probably a pretty powerful guy. I agree that because he punches so fast that some punches hit the other guy and he did not even see them coming, so the effects look like a super punch or whatever.

I have seen videos of him sparring and just throwing punches as fast as he can and let me tell you...you can't even see his hands or arms really, just his shoulders moving- he is that fast. Marquez got dropped by 3 distinct punches for 3 distinct knockdowns, not an accumulation of punches (all in the 1st rd.),
so I would say he could drop a lot more people than he is getting credit for. Oscar looked like he wanted to take a knee several times in rd's 8 and 9, only pride kept him up.

Hatton had better be in the best shape of his life, because I see Hatton thinking that Manny can't really hurt him (too small of a guy) and this will get him hurt in there. It is hard to tell until they both get in the same ring, but I think Manny will be much, much faster than Hatton and he will be eating punches all night.
