This is the first time I'm hearing this about Khan, but I have friends of different religious backgrounds and I know that they take certain customs/practices seriously.

Yeah, they are allowed to eat before sunlight and after sunset (i think).

Ramadan started on the 1st of September and Khan fought Prescott on the 6th. Maybe we're clutching at straws, but maybe he didn't rehydrate proper because of fasting on the day of the fight???.
