I knew this fight would happen. Just needed a little time. Pavlik by age 26, has already fought better competition then some have over a whole career.

I just hope whoever wins get the credit they deserve.

One management blunder is bad enough for a boxer's career, two could finish him. Pavlik is not ready for Abraham. The flaws in his style were exposed and exploited by both Taylor (second fight) and Hopkins. I seriously doubt that he has made any significant improvement. It will take him at least a year of dedicated training to learn how to deal with opponents who have superior boxing skills.

So if he wins, then what?

The only sytle that is going to give him real probelms are the Hopkins types. And those dont come around very often.

He fought Taylor twice, won by decision and by Knockout. What else can he prove there.

Agreed. Hopkins and Abraham are worlds apart. Beyond how far superior Hopkins is over Abraham, he didn't bother him by standing in front of Pav letting him blow his load, then countering with haymakers. You don't tire out Pav by blocking, you tire him by making him cross his feet stepping to the left, having him walk into 3,2s with in and out movement, and roughing up on the inside. Things Abraham isn't capable of even attempting. Not to say Abraham can't/won't catch Pav with a devastating counter, but that is entirely different from what Hopkins or any Hopkins type fighter can do. I was so annoyed when Lampley made that comparison, even Felix Sturm is a closer comparison to styles.

              I agree with all that.

Abraham is still going to be dangerous. His style has worked well for him in the past and made him a champion. It should be a good fight, big credit to whoever wins.

                    I hope it happens.

Its by far the biggest fight at middleweight.

I'll believe it when I'm watching the Countdown. Arum will probably whip out some excuse like "Arthur's not popular enough here in America to make it worthwhile".

AA v. Sturm should have happened first, then we would see one unified champion. Ah, Felix, you should not have rejected the fight...
