It's hard to put a lot of people over Roy based on his talent, but as far as victories over key names in the sport...you gotta go with Bernard.

    Winky
    Tito
    Oscar
    Tarver
    Pavlik

Now a lot of people will pick at his wins like "Oscar & Tito werent true 160, Pavlik was one-dimensional, Tarver was drained, etc". But the funny part is that many people picked Bernard to lose and he seemed to always prove people wrong.

Roy's gonna be looked at as one of the sports most entertaining and athletic fighters of our time while Bernard will be heralded as one of the great Middleweights of our time who defied the odds as his career was said to be past the prime years.

      Peanuts, really.
If you fight at 170 it is sanctioned as a LHW bout.

If it is OVER 168 it is not SMW anymore...

but it adds on to my point...

      At 160 pavlik KOs Jermain

at 166... Pavlik has a close fight with Jermain

      at 170.................................

Im not discrediting Bernards win... but some people need to see every angle of this fight.

You cant say the Win has more VALIDATION.. because people thought Bernard would lose... the opponent is... who the opponent is... and those opponents all had to move up in weight to fight Bernard...

Oh I know. I'm actually a big Hopkins fan too. To be honest, I can't make a decision on this.....

When did being athletic become a crime? It's like, let's take away Ray Robinson's legacy because he had fast hands. Like...huh?

Forgot Jones' dazzle in the ring and look at his accomplishments--those who actually followed the sport in the 90's know what I'm talking about. Remember how he used to get blasted for his quality of opposition? Then we turned around and realized he had the best resume in the sport? I think sometimes the newbies who began following the sport during the tail end of his run can never appreciate what he did. A prime Jones = Mayweather x 2. You have Hopkins higher--can't argue with it. But if you base Jones as being all athleticism then please discredit Ali for having fast hands and anyone else who (gasp!) made the most of their God-given talent.

You'd have to ask yourself... what would Bernard have done if Roy decided to stay at MW?

Toney was 44-0 and P4P #3 on the list... ROY MOVED UP to beat him.

              Roy cleaned out 175...

Do you see all the praise Pac has gotten for beating a washed up Oscar?

Imagine the hype if he moved up to fight a top three, undefeated pound for pounder who looked absolutely unbeatable when motivated? Then shut him out?

God, people seriously use weight waaaaaay to much on this site. Palvik did better the first time against Taylor not because of the 6 pound weight difference but because of how taylor actually fought the fights. First fight taylor goes in thinking he's going to ko the kid. He gassed himself out after nearly getting the job done. 2nd fight taylor had a completely different mind set and tried to out box the guy and was defensive and timid as he didn't want to get KO'd again.
