Bernard has more names on his list... but these names all had to come up to fight him.. and Tarver was weight drained.. its not an excuse, but it is a valid reason to note...

Roy didnt have as many names... but he did GO UP in weight to fight ALL of them...

Bernard has the MW title defense record.

Roy went from MW to HW and back to LHW....

    Roy beat Bernard

Bernard beat two guys that knocked out Roy, at the end of his career*

    its fu,ckin close guys.

You are right about Winky, but absolutely wrong about Pavlik.

Pavlik fought Hopkins at a catchweight of 170lbs, just 4 lbs north of the 166lbs catchweight limit that Kelly had beaten Taylor at in the rematch.

That's not two weightclasses. That's barely even a weightclass above his natural weight.

Not only that, but its Toney's fault. Your going to the biggest fight in your career, and you decide to prepare in a ****ty way? its hard to feel bad for JT on this one....and I like james toney.

Not really sure about that. Hopkins to me in his prime was around the trinidad fight, I think that hopkins matches very well against a prime Jones. Too bad it never happened.

but they are both ATG's, but resume to resume, are you saying Jones is better then Hopkins?
Jones would not be 50 at all...when did you start watching boxing, man? You act like Jones had a three-year run or something. He was on top for so long we all got sick of him. At or near the pound for pound list for about 10 years....that's no joke man. Hopkins is just now getting around to 175. Jones beat the best at 160-168 in about a year.

I love 'em both. It's just that Bernard is my hometown guy, you know?

Dude grew up a stone's throw away from my front stoop.

I consider Bernard and Roy to be boxing's version of Jack Lemon and Walter Matthau.

Roy has seemed to achieved more (world titles in 4 weight classes), however Hopkins has had better longevity (for 44 years of age he is outstanding). Hard one to decide...

It's super middle. And Pavlik - as he showed in the Taylor rematch - is better suited for 160.

Not to mention prior to losing to Hopkins pavlik was planning on moving UP in weight because 160 was "too difficult" to make
