The germans love their Klitschko's. Whopping TV-figures!

So maybe the klit's are disliked in America, but in their adopted home of Germany they are beloved. A whopping 11.5 million viewers tuned in to watch Vitali crush Juan Carlos Gomez! That's about 54% of the total market!

Boxing a sport in recession? NEIN!

      Good news!

It helps that in Germany, they don't have Teddy Atlas and a few other commentators repeatedly discrediting the top heavyweights and bashing the HW division.

Shows how little the Germans know about boxing. They have one descent boxer and he's really Armenian.

Certainly is. It also shows the wisdom of putting at least some big fights on terrestrial rather than PPV anywhere. Less intial revenue, but much more exposure so bigger advertising contracts, more merchandise sales, etc., etc.

Pity so many of them probably ended up asleep, though.

Pretty impressive but when you put it in perspective it's nothing. A live David Hasselhoff concert once had 100% ratings in Germany.

Yeah. They are household names in Germany, with appearences in all kinds of main stream television shows. They always give an excellent account of themselves. True rolemodels for the kids.

Yea outside of europe the klitschko's really have NO! fan base or appeal to boxing fans....in latin america they are despised more than even in america......they are just turning good loyal fans off from the heavyweight division....and they make demands all the time....i think its ridiculous and needs to stop.
