    Hagler/Hopkins

I recognize that Bernard Hopkins is a great champion/boxer with enormous power for a middleweight, but is he hall of fame material? I think a prime Marvin Hagler would destroy him. Late KO or UD.

I agree with you about Hagler beating Hopkins.
And I don't think hopkins has some much power, but he does everything very well and his focus is always 100%
But that would have been a terrific fight!

Bernard Hopkins is a great fighter and if you'd only be a HoF Middleweight if you could've beaten a prime Marvelous Marvin Hagler there'd be no other MW in the HoF.

A prime Marvin Hagler is the best middleweight ever to step in a boxing ring. At least thats my very personal opinion.

I would favor Hagler, although I think that Hopkin's ring smarts would give him a chance agaisnt any middleweight in history.

I'll also go for Hagler here, I know Hopkins is a great fighter and is shooting for his record 20 MW Title defense next year, but I have seen Marvelous beat up all my favorite fighters like Ray Leonard, Duran & Hearns, so I going for THE KILLER of my fave...

              top post.
that my friend shows an apprecition of the attributes that hopkins has and also how he applies them to his fights.

Hopkins is the most adaptable and thinking middleweight Ive ever seen. May not have the biggest punch best skills but man, he adapts in the ring like no other. I think he developed this after Jones took him to school. After all no one can deny Nard is a man who learns from his mistakes

This aint even close in reality. The level of opposition that Hagler has fought compared to Hops is just so far apart it aint even funny. Hops has never faced the likes of Mugaby, Hearns, Leonard, Duran, etc... Hagler would just walk through anything that Hops could bring and end up with a brutal KO as usual. To me Hops aint fought even 5 great or good fighters in his whole career. I got a blown up 135lb Oscar, a young RJJ (whom he lost to), Tito (no comment) and that is it. If I forgot someone I cannot think of them. I will admit it is not all his fault because the fighters have just not been their but to compare his level of comp to Hagler's is just ludacris . Hops is a distant #2 behind Hagler IMOP.
