I always liked Roy Jones. And I think a lot of active fighters would have loved to have had his career. And to be remembered how he will be...as an all time great.

Hopkins was green, most people realise this, maybe not Roy fans.

The Hopkins Roy fought was certainly not as good as even the 44 year old version we see today.

Of course the Toney fight was a risk, one of the few Roy actually took.

He picked up Michalczewski's stripped titles at LHW.

Who did he win these belts against? a 40 year old Mike McCallum fighting 21 pounds above his best division?

All the while not fighting the best fighter in the division and the linear champion.

Roy fought champs. its not his fault that that all these guys where champs at the time. plus DM didnt want to come here to fight roy. why when roy is holding the titles should be go over sea's to fight? he is the champ so you come to him. everyone knows the HW div is very very weak and the klits are taking it over at the right time. but its not roys fault that all these guys where champs at the time. he didnt tell anyone to drop their title. he beat the crap out of toney beat hopkins green or not it still took how many years for him to lose?????? so green or not he still beat hops. ok ruiz wasnt and isnt a great fighter yet some people had him KOing roy. roy easliy disposed of him. toney did too but that was when toney actually cared about his boxing carreer atleast alittle bit. but to say that he doesnt. say what you want roy is a ATG. he went through who he had to. plus name someone to do what roy did after him. not toney bc he was on roids when he moved up and won the title. so until you tell me who else has done it. you watch the slow klit fight punching bags.
