It's hilarious how you're giving Floyd flack for fighting a smaller guy, when he's been fighting bigger guys his entire career.

All Mayweather has done is make the future generation of fighters think, its okay to fight who you want, when you reach the pinnacle of the Sport, because their are fans like YOU out there, who will still give them mad props no matter who they fight.

Floyd Mayweather is an amazing boxer. So I guess I'm not a true boxing fan. However, I do agree. Guys like Sugar Ray Robinson would be all over a Paul Williams fight. They fought the best because they thought they were the best. It wasn't all about money and purses. So I agree with that. And no, Mayweather and Robinson obviously do not belong in the same sentence. Robinson would have crushed Mayweather at WW.

How can anyone be a fan of this guy? he is everything what is wrong with Boxing TODAY. Ducking viable opponents, and picking on smaller/older guys past their best. Guys who were never any good to begin with(Baldomir)

By supporting him you are as good as saying you have no problem with the way he behaves towards the sport. That is the reason you are not a true fans in my eyes. You as a fan of Boxing 1st, Floyd fan 2nd should be a apposed to his antics and concerned about the welfare of the sport, but most of you Mayweather fans support what he has been doing.


He might have good skills, but he is no Champion. Champions dont quit in their prime.

This is one of the main reasons guys like Robinson will rightfully ALWAYS be above guys like Jones/Mayweather, because no matter how talented Jones/Mayweather are they are not true champions.

Sugar Ray Robinson is one of the worst examples you could use of an old-time fighter who wasn't about the money. Robinson was notorious for fighting for every last dollar in the contract, pulling out of fights, driving promoters nuts. By his own admission, he fought for the money and saw it as a business.

He wasn't going to take fights without being properly compensated for it. But since fighters got paid less back then, he still had to fight way more often.
