More than his losses to Mosley, Hopkins, Mayweather and Pacquiao, I honestly think that his biggest mistake he committed in his career was turning into a safety first fighter and running around in the championship rounds against Felix Trinidad. BIG BIG MISTAKE.

Trinidad, definitely. That derailed his whole career in a way and almost certainly had a lasting negative psychological impact.

he commited those mistakes alright, but it did very little to his superstar status...

in this regard, his choice to fight pacquiao and his subsequent loss to him really put a dent to that "superstar" status more than any loss in his career...

The continuous lay offs he's had throughout his career. For a fighter with a fanbase most fighters of this era could only dream of he certainly didnt return the favor. Ironically this has led to some of his losses (Mosley) or near losses (Sturm, Quartey).

I voted for the Trinidad fight though because that was a career defining fight

Taking it easy against Trinidad costed him his "0" and that aura of invincivility, at least against Pacquiao he can say that he was shot.
