Maybe not right now but once Pac retires, Pac will be rated Higher than Duran. Duran a 135 will be untouchable. Either he was #1 or # 2. BUt Pac will up end him in the other department. Pac will have more Lineal titles, More weight covered, Pac will have lesser loses to High Profile fights, Pac wins against the top P4Pounders will be more impressive.

I'm 41 now & my Favorite in the 80s was Duran. So I've seen & Lived his hype during his Prime years. Once Pac dominates hatton, I think that will be the time you can say Pac already surpassed Duran. But Pac will not end there. There's more bigger Names for Pac to gobble after Hatton.

and what level are you talking about? he surpassed him already in the Lineal championships level? PAC has more and if pac beats hatton he is the only 1, i repeat the only 1 with 4 lineal titles, he rose through weight classes defeating the best of the best in those division, more than any one, to say that the PACMAN avoids real competition are idiots and haters who know nothing about boxing. alphabet belts dont mean ****, lineal championship belts is more important.

Yes and no. If the split is between, say, Zarate (WBC) and Zamora (lineal/WBA), then being Zarate meant more. In this case, Pac beat the presumed best for all three of his lineal claims, two occupied by the man who beat the man and the other a vacant against his best rival.

As to levels, it isn't THAT far apart right now in terms of accomplishment. Duran still leads because he beat Leonard and because he was the BEST of all-time in a weight class (35...Manny never built a memorable reign anywhere) but in terms of number of HOFers defeated, they're pretty close.

Alphabet titles are different from Lineal title and the P4P list.

for me Duran is Duran... and Pacquiao is Pacquiao... The action that they display inside the ring.. the quality of fights are more important than any belt...

True... and besides I haven't seen Pacquiao in "No Mas Mode" and I have seen Duran in the SRLeonard rematch.

But still..they are two different fighters in different situations, different quality of oppositions, and different "paychecks"

Im a pac fan, but i really cant see him being greater than Duran........even if he wins all his upcoming fights(Hatton, PBF, Cotto). I know duran loss some big ones(hearns, hagler, leonard), but a 38y/o duran beating barkley is mindblowing. Theyre gonna be equals in my eyes.just my opinion though.

IF (IF) Pac beat Hatton and May, he'd be in the argument around Duran's area. That's all a fighter can do. From there, it's up to the mythical match gods and no one ever really loses there.

Have to see the fights first man. I'll say if he beat both decisively, he's on his level in my eyes. What more could really be asked of him?
