I didnt get into boxing until 2000 or so, so I missed the 130-140lb stuff.

As a welter was good but no ATG really. His career was a bit like Holyfelds heavyweight career, fought almost every name there was but didnt always win.

I dont see him being able to hang with the fab 4 of the 80s. Well not that he would get KTFO but I dont see him beating any of them.

He was the 90s-2000s version of SRL in terms of marketability but no where near in terms of skill.

Did it hurt Ali's due to his loss to Trevor Berbick??? Did it hurt Trinidad's to Jones??

As for the thread, yes he is an ATG, just cause he lost some big fights, people judge him for that.

Name me a 5-6 division champ that isn't an ATG??
Yeah I just said he wasnt an ATG lol. I guess it depends what you want to mean as ATG. No doubt history will remember him amongst the best so I mean yeah he is an ATG as far as history is concerned and as far as his fame is concerned. Though head to head he is not that great in the all time welter ratings.

It's called taking risks, if he wanted to, I'm pretty sure he could of retired undefeated like other boxers.

When I say ATG, I mean top 100. No way in hell he's top 10.

Chicano to the rescue. Did they fight an opponent 3 division lower?Did they quit after after saying " anything less than a KO will be disappointment"?

All those loses are to ATG fighters too. He didn't just lose to anyone.

I can easily turn it around and say Pac is P4P #1 in the world while Trinidad lost to a washed up Roy Jones and still got embarrassed. See what I mean??

You can. Deep inside you know its really much much more worse, what Oscar did.It was the worst decision of his career and he will be remembered as a "big guy" quitting against a "little guy" you can make excuses chicano but fact is It was Oscar's mistake and his legacy will suffer greatly because of it.
Is it fair? I dont know hes given a lot to boxing too, so lets see what he makes out of the rest of his boxing career.
