Gomez has a lot of different punches in his arsenal. He can do a lot of things. He can work at all sorts of angles. Gomez is a good body puncher, and he can throw some quick combinations there. He'll be able to counter nicely and use plenty of lateral movement. He has the ability to throw some sharp punches upstairs and quickly move out of range, like Herbie Hide did in the first round of his fight with Klitschko. The key isn't so much hit and not get hit [which is impossible anyway], it's hit and not get hit cleanly. If Gomez can land three and take one, without being hit right on the button, he has the fortitude to endure. His chin is not bad.
You have to remember, that a guy of Gomez's ability knows how to win fights. That might sound silly, as good boxers generally do. But with someone like Gomez, he'll spot a little opening and take it. Think of it as like someone who's really good at pool: he's not just thinking about his current shot, he's thinking a couple of shots ahead. I'm just wondering if the Gomez camp might plan on starting off slowly, with an eye on upping the pace later on. Vitali has never struck me as having great stamina. Even in the Danny Williams fight he looked to be tired. Gomez will most likely come out fast, though.
