A fixed sum comes along with a contract. I dont think Floyd has a current contract with HBO.

a floyd berto fight is definitely a ppv event...

Also, HBO would have to pay FLoyd AND Berto, to be on regular HBO.. the money wouldnt be there...

If Floyd DOES IN FACT take a tune up on regular HBO, it will be a B fighter who will get like 500k...
Okay, Now i understand why JMM is been mentioned..

i think a bout with berto could make alotta sense and could be a great fight ... if hes gonna tune up with a guy like collazo may as well make it berto for a belt.

No he isnt on any contract, But from what i read he wanted his next fight on HBO and he wants it to be a tune-up....He wants to be paid a fix-amount but HBO might not be able to generate that amount...They can only generate thats sort of amount through PPV...which Mayweather doesnt want.

So i can see why JMM might be an option now...He wouldnt get pay as much as the rest of the clan..

I'd rather see Floyd fight a top WW or Pac, but i wouldnt mind seeing him in the ring with Marquez. Marquez should jump all over this opportunity given it takes place at a fair catchweight for both fighters. JMM definitely has the tools to give Floyd a rough night, and i wouldnt even be suprised at an upset. Marquez has nothing to lose here. Floyd on the other hand does. If Floyd were to lose against Marquez, it could kill his negotiating power for his next bout given that there is one.
