there is really no point for this thread

most the people in this whole forum is die hard boxing fans that will pretty much say f*** mma

i love both sports i hope both of them continue to grow and get better

a biased persons opinion on either boxing or mma has no standpoint

think about it if a guy loves boxing and hates mma then yes he is gonna say that boxing is greater than mma and its the same thing if a guy loves mma but hates boxing

the only people that make good statements about this is people that have respect for both sports and can talk about whats going on in a non biased manner

"If you think no one cares then you spend too much time on sherdg. Boxing is still more popular than MMA in the United States and it shows when you compare PPV numbers. The major difference in the States is that there aren't enough quality boxing cards. When there is, they blow MMA out of the water. In Europe boxing is many times more popular than MMA and only in the UK will you see a lot of support for MMA, the continent is still in love with boxing.

And no, if you consider watching boxing to be the fat chick to MMA's perfect 10, you are no fan of boxing and you shouldn't even pretend as much. I love both sports but I will forever hold that there are few things in sport as beautiful as a championship boxing match like Vasquez/Marquez, Corrales/Castillo, or Barrera/Morales. I've yet to see an MMA match that felt as epic as any one of those confrontations."

MMA has an edge over Boxing promotion wise thanks to the large martial arts base and how personable the fighters are with the fans and the ability to help explain their sport.

If Boxing would step it up, possibly let the casual fan follow a boxer and maybe call them their own, maybe they could catch up with MMA on the sports end as well.

Boxing's here to stay though. Win, lose or draw.

Between the UFC's deal with ****e, their monthly PPVs, Versus showcasing WEC (a Zuffa owned organization) with its bi-monthly cards and the overall appeal to the general public, me being a Boxing fan 1st can admit MMA has the edge over Boxing as far as mainstream popularity.

But that doesn't mean Boxing is dead whatsoever.
That's not alot. With ESPN, Showtime and HBO their must be close to a 100 cards on quality networks a year, with a lot of money spent on some of them. FNF get's 4m viewers according to an ESPN bigwig , something like WEC get's 500-600k viewers. Boxing is quite a bit bigger than we give it credit for.
