  • Who is higher on ATG list: Mayweather, Hopkins or Pacquiao?

Building on a previous thread, Pacquiao and Hopkins were decided to have the best resumes since 2000. Will having a superior resume cause these two fighters to be regarded by history in a more favorable light than Floyd Mayweather Jr.? One would think resume should be the deciding factor for a boxer's place in history, since it represents what you have accomplished and not simply what you could have accomplished. I don't think it makes sense to credit a fighter with a higher place in history simply due to their skill/talent/persona. So, all factors considered and especially resume: Who is higher on ATG list: Mayweather, Hopkins or Pacquiao? Poll to follow please discuss! The following are a few Big wins from each fighter for quick reference:

    Bernard Hopkins
    Winky Wright
    Antonio Tarver
    Felix Trinidad
    Kelly Pavlik
    Oscar De La Hoya

    Manny Pacquiao
    Eric Morales 2-1
    Juan Manuel Marquez 1-0-1
    Marco Antonio Barrera 2-0
    Oscar De La Hoya
    Lehlohonolo ledwaba

    Floyd Mayweather Jr.
    Ricky Hatton
    Oscar De La Hoya Jr.
    Zab Judah
    Jose Luis Castillo 2-0
    Diego Corrales
    52
    Floyd Mayweather Jr.
    17.31%
    9
    Bernard Hopkins
    51.92%
    27
    Manny Pacquiao
    30.77%

Haha I don't think separating Hopkins & Pacquiao is going to boost the number of votes for Floyd by much lol.

Hopkins still gets my vote, with Pacman second.

I selected Hopkins as of now. However, Pac is still in his prime and is fighting hatton for another lineal title. We could possibly see Bhop fight for his third lineal title against Adamek. This is very close in my book. Pbf comes in a clear third imo.

Yup no kidding, but NSB loves playing the victim so I adjusted it.

Yup, this is how I feel. I think Pacquiao will ultimately pass him but for now I give the edge to Hopkins. As I've said before I think Adamek takes that fight against Hopkins so IMO it's up to Pacquiao to beat Hatton and another big name and he'll be #1 of these 3.

                As of right now, Hopkins.

But both Pacquiao & Mayweather could change that depending on how there careers go from here.

Although if Hopkins does beat Adamek at age 44, that raises his legacy even further.
