I really don't talk boxing much outside of here. I get glassy eyed stares, like I'm trying to explain quantum physics to most people trying to talk about it.

I hate when I talk about boxing to a boxing "FAN" and they say wrong names....

Like Naseem Muhhamed..... Or why doesnt Ricky Hatton fight Pavli because they are the most entertaining white guys and it would make money..... I tell them Ricky is 140 and Pavlik is 160.... Then he says.. "Its only 20 lbs... Ricky is really good... I would put money on Ricky... Damn they should make it happen.."

I PROMISE YOU.. that was a real conversation...... I just shut up and listened...

And then when they throw out fighters in wrong weight divisions... And swear they are right......

The number one thing that annoys me is that they keep saying Ali is not only the best fighter of all time, he is the best athlete of all time.

I get this **** at work all the time. It pisses me off but I just let it be. It'd be like explaining to a child that there is no Santa Claus.

Barely any of my friends are proper Boxing fans but Football (Soccer) fans, kinda gets annoying only having one friends to properly talk to Boxing about... that's why I enjoy this site so much.

The general public does not know much about boxing and that is why I love ******** on it.
yep.....the only person i can have a serious boxing conversation with is one of my cousins.....

Really so then i go and tell them that they do i give them examples. Vasquez vs marquez, marquez vs manny. Hatton vs floyd. Dawson vs johnson etc..... Then they tell me that its corrupted. Then i tell them yeah it might be in some ways but didn't baseball go through a roids era or bball go through a dirty ref? Also they always reply don king is corrupted well don doesn't run boxing like he use to i tell them about current promotions. Eventually they give boxing a chance and they fall in love with it. Any of u guys get these replys from people that don't know the current state of boxing? By the way boxing hasnt been this great in a long time. I really think hbo will help built boxing even more
well, i would agree with the claims that the best don't always fight the best, boxing can be corrupt, and that don king is a piece of s.hit.

just because you and me personally like watching boxing doesn't mean that the casual boxing fans' complaints aren't valid. boxing hasn't shown the ability to govern itself like a normal sport in its 150 or so years of existence (depending on when you consider modern boxing to have originated). boxing has hurt itself. not the casual fans.

I'm on a mission to convert as many casuals and nonfans as I can. If they know **** about boxing, I try and show em some good fights so they can see for themselves. All I hear from em is they quit watchin when Tyson fell off.
