Why DON"T modern fighters fight AS MUCH as OLDER ONES???

          In Robinson's case he did get quite a lot of money even for one big fight but he spent a lot and he also thought it would be detrimental to a fighter not to fight as often as he did.

          You could point out to Jack Dempsey who had numerous fights early on when he was fighting for nothing but food and then as champion ended up taking long layoffs, even years, inbetween title defenses when he started to earn million dollar paydays. He did have many "exhibition" contests though.

            Alot of those fighters that had a lot of career fights, din't have amateur experience either. Alot of fighters today fight in the amateurs 1st and then go pro. But if you count those amateur fights, then they would prolly have 200+ fights too.
