    Ricardo Lopez or JCC?

    Who had the greater accomplishment?

Many regard JCC the greatest Mexican fighter ever. But a case for Finito can definitely be made. He retired undefeated and made 20 (correct me if Im wrong) defenses of his title, and was the more proficient technically.

21 defenses, but in terms of names JCC has the way better record. Then again, I don't know much about Lopez's resume besides the fights with Alvarez and he beat a lot of top straweight contenders.

        Salvador Sanchez gobbles them both.

Lopez would have beaten him. Chiquita Gonzalez was a better fighter then Carbajal and Carbajal ducked Lopez apparently.

Lopez fought only at Straweight, which hurts his legacy IMO. Even though I think Finito is a better overall fighter than Chavez. If JCC had decisively beaten Taylor (I thought the stoppage was BS) and Whitaker, no doubt he would be #1.

                He fought at 108 also.
The prblem with Fnito and all the minum weight greats, is that people dont put attetion to them, so nobody really knows how good is opponents are.

I remember when El nene Sanchez, was said thta he was the one to beat Finto and Finto anhaliated him in 5 rounds, and Sanchez was really heavy handed and had very good skills.

Anyways if they were the same size, Finito ****s Chavez with ease!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've actually heard from good sources that Lopez/Beristain negotiated way too high and killed a fight Carbajal was good to go on. Lopez's record doesn't sniff Chavez and to say beating Taylor 'decisive' would have made the difference is silly. Lopez never sniffed anyone in Taylor's league.

Lopez barely sniffed anyone in the league of Lockridge or LaPorte.
