  • How many boxing fans here started as wrestling fans?

I thought of this because texican mentioned that he thinks a lot of WWF fans became MMA fans, which is a decent assumption. So how about it, did you start off as a wrestling fan? Also please feel free to make any wrestler/boxer comparisons you see fit. Texican has a couple good ones below. Here's part of our conversation.

I started watching WWF when I was like 5 years old and then moved on to boxing in the mid 90's when Chavez and Tyson where fighting thanks to my dad and uncles.

What's embarrassing, being a wrestling fan? I was a little kid. Hulk Hogan/Ultimate Warrior days.

i don't feel there's a connection between being a wrestling fan to becoming a boxing fan in my case. i watched the WWF during the Attitude era then stopped watching it completely. it would be years later til i took an interest in boxing.

I know right. Why is it so horrible to think there's a connection? It's just a natural human progression theory.

Yeah feel the same way, I stopped watching wrestling though because it's marketed towards little kids now....or maybe it always was and I just grew up. If you want a boxing/wrestling comparison the best I can do is Del La Hoya vs Mayorga seems to be a perfect fit for the typical wrestling match story line I.E Baby face(good guy) vs Heel(bad guy).
