Team Martinez is Livid With Abraham vs. Forrest Bout

Sampson Lewkowicz, the agent for Sergio Martinez, became enraged when he surfed to BoxingScene.com and saw my recent report of a possible fight between WBC junior middleweight champion Vernon Forrest and IBF middleweight champion Arthur Abraham. As I reported last week, an agreement was reached for a fight between Forrest and Martinez, who holds the WBC's interim title at junior middleweight. [details]

It's not really surprising that Forrest wants to go another way, he won't fight Martinez unless he has absolutely no choice. An Abraham fight would probably make him about the same amount of money.

We should not be surprised by this move. Vernon wants to get a nice payday and the couple million Euro's he can make if he fights overseas is worth the risk to him. Vernon has stayed away from power punchers ever since he got KTFO by Mayorga. I see Abraham by KO!
